Making more money in the game?
Hi

I have played a few seasons of BBII and I feel that I am not making that much money after every game. It might be like that, but I am just wondering if there are ways of making more money. Every game I play the opponent spends like 800-1000 on players etc. and I can't buy anything. I am saving up for a star player and they are quite expensive. After the last game I had 40 in ongoing expenses and the dice gave me 60 (on a 3) so that is not much out of a game.

Please help with that :)

how high is your TV?

All money that you save above 150k will go to your Team Value. That's not what you want. If you want star players - you can buy them with inducement money if your opponent will have higher TV than you. Inducement money = your opponent TV - your TV (Ofcourse if your TV will be higher than formula will be reversed).

Ah I see. So because my TV is much higher than my opponent they get all this money and I don't... It is around 2200 at the moment.

Is it possible to get star players permanently - not just in one match at a time?

What race are you playing? That's pretty a pretty huge TV.

You can't permanently roster Stars, and in the majority of cases they aren't as good as your normal players.

Also, above 2000 (I think) you get these 'spiralling expenses' which deduct from your income, making it harder even to buy normal replacements should someone get killed/need to be fired.

I play human at the moment. So maybe it would be best to buy stuff on my stadium or more linemen?

Check out some guides on team development and basic roster goals.

https://fumbbl.com/help:Strategy

Has some links in the external resources section which should give you some stuff to think about.

But, it sounds like you don't understand the SE rule, or how inducements work either. So you can read the official rules as well (there's a link somewhere in BB2).

Basically, teams after 1750TV start to lose winnings, so it's harder to make money after your matches, though it really only gets noticeable above 2000TV, but that's where you are.

BB2 also counts extra money above 150K as part of your TV, so sitting on a stash of money doesn't help you very much, it's recommended never to carry a bank over 150K unless you have some specific short term goal in mind for that extra money.
Just throwing a few more things out there for you to read that might up your EXP with coaching.

BBtactics.com <---- good BB resource.

In regards to TV... generally, coaches at higher Team Value make their money when a player dies (or gets an injury to an attribute that is vital for his position). When that happens, the Team Value Drops below 1750, the coach saves up cash for a replacement (or can sometimes even wait and save up $ for a replacement + the full 150,000 before buying the replacement (if they want to play at higher team value un-interrupted by injuries longer).

Generally, when playing in endless leagues, if you want to play at the highest team value rating the longest.. you'll consider NOT using your apocrathary on players who can play close to their maximum potential with only one skill-up ( They will be faster to "get up to speed" when playing in the big leagues). Wood ELf Wardancers come to mind here.. since they are great out of the box, their buying value is high- so when they injure/die your team value will drop by 160,000 or so, dropping you back down to a team value where you can make money again.

Further, many coaches try to minimize their team value to increase win odds by playing teams around the same team value but having more skilled players. Personally I dont like this, as having more players usually makes the games more of a nail-biting experience.. and usually more enjoyable for more experienced coaches (IE more experienced coaches wont worry if they lose a close game when it was close and challenging).

If youre going to play at high Team Value, its not a bad Idea to keep in mind why you are doing it... some coaches may enjoy killing other coaches long time favorite players, others just to mix up the injuries on all the Bash Teams at High Team Value... or others like me.. who enjoy bringing teams you normally wont see at High Team Value and causing as much W/L trouble as I can (which make for some very challenging matches).

Cheers / GL / HF

Thank you for all your help! This has been most helpful and I am looking forward to learning more on the websites you have shared!

Yep, its less about "making" money, as it is "paying as little running costs" as possible. The latter is achieved by having a lower team value.

Personally I like having high spp characters that develop their own "flair" after a while. For example, my 2400 dark elf team has a blitzer who can score a 1-turn touchdown if I roll a quick snap result in the beginning. To balance it out he has a -str injury. Or my old chaos team 140 spp Minotaur who is an unstoppable monster for the most part with +str and multiple block, juggernaut and other goodies.

Ofc these teams will be mostly broke due to running costs, but thats BB2.

Note: If you can't help getting money from wins, you can throw it away to stadium development, as that doesn't count toward team value.

Well, in the official tabletop game, you can get multiple sponsors that pay you based on performance, or take down notorious players with bounties on them, and such. Too bad we don't have that in-game.

I presume this is in DZ2? Because I don't have that in my basic rulebook or in DZ1.
