Old World League mode is a championship with 4 divisions - Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. You're starting in low-TV Bronze division and have to qualify to higher divisions, and eventually win Platinum division at least 4 seasons later.
Ana there are a few other templates.
To confirm, when you play your first game of the first season, the opposing team doesn't have a bunch of level 2-4's while you are stuck with all level 1s? If so, is the AI good enough to keep the ongoing seasons competitive?
AI starts with all level 1's at 960-1000 TV if you start with new team, too. It making progress at the same speed as you should do if your team isn't heavily crippled - most of the matches always will be against teams within +/-100 TV difference, unless your opponent's team was decimated in previous games, too.
It has no weighting rule so it wont pick equal numbers of each available race, its also terrible when you win, a little text box pops up 'you won the season' then a button to start a new one, rinse repeat. No feedback, stats, fanfare, awards, off season etc etc
SP is a barely acceptable afterthought of a mode cause they wasted all their time making that bad campaign story mode. Granted the AI is beyond awful anyway so even with more features it wouldnt be much fun anyway.
