More seriously, decent positioning.
I know what they are going to do. I even know where they are going to do it. But no idea how to stop them from either scoring at will, or knocking the ball lose at will. Strip ball and guard on some of their players seem to be a super tough combination to counter.
That's just one leap and a blitz to reach your carrier.
That's a leap and two dodges through tackle zones to reach your carrier.
Also take sure hands. And you should ideally have guard on two corners if caging.
Thanks for the "obviously" worthless reply. Go away and kick a puppy or something, maybe it will make you feel better.
Thanks, that's very helpful.
It is a useless comment. Even if you can't directly counter Leap you can position as Arlen said to force more dodges, stopping the blitz on the ball and making it harder for them to position, which are the two things Leap does. "Countered".
There is litterally no counter to most stuff. Dodge and Strip Ball, nothing else comes to my mind right now.
There is a counter as good as most "counters" in BB, it's problematic enough for OP to open a thread asking for tips, and more generally to write guides about how to play specifically against Slann/Kislev.
Best counter for leap is to force them to leap often or dodge, so they fail at some point and then you wrap them, hug them and smack them.
On the defensive there's not much you can do. If your team is slow, keep a safety so that the enemy can't leap over you, take a GFI or two and be out of reach. If you mark their catchers with enough many players, they can't pass the ball to them until after they've moved, and that's a long pass just waiting to fail.
Kislev's team ability is fed by dice rolls. So ideally, you want to force them to waste their re-rolls so they start jumping without them.
If you can somehow bleed out their TRRs, they become a lot more vulnerable and the risks they have to take lead to (on average) more turnovers.
The core strategy to winning most of your matches will be to minimize your risks while maximizing your opponent's risks. With Kislev/Slann the biggest risk is Leap. And if they can't afford to use Leap, they're basically wasting the core functionality of their team.
In more ways than one... food distraction (if indeed the ARE monkies), and slippery peels...
As for Slann D... wait for the failed leap... punch the crap out of the remainders, and extra careful caging.
Get to their Catchers and blitzers with your heavy hitters. Expect a 2-1 grind.. and hope to never see a slann team get 3 TDs... unless youre elfs, rats or Lizards (who are most reliable to answer high scoring affairs).
For example, just played a game with my Vampires were I failed bloodlust SIX consequetive times over two turns. Every single vampire I had rolled a one two turns in a row.
So with those of us who have bad luck, it's super hard to defend against circus leaping teams. But I'll try the suggestions, thanks!
