How do you designate a kicker?

Sometimes i move positions before a kick off to compensate for injuries. The former thrower who was a doing the kicking, and is a newbie got moved to the line. My veteran thrower who actually has kick skill already (I was trying to experience up the new thrower's spp) then got played to make up the numbers. Great so he'll kick.

Instead what happened is that the former kicker got assigned the kick off despite being on the line. How can i change who is the designated or preferred kicker? I don't seem to be able to see an option for it.

When the kick symbols are displayed, you can cycle through every player on your team. I play with gamepad, there it's the triggers, on keyboard and mouse I have no idea.

I believe the kicker has to be not in the scrumage or the two 4x12 sidelines to be used for kick off.

If you have a palyer with the kick skill he will automatically be used as long as he is not misplaced.

If you don't have a kicker, I have no idea how it dicides which player to show in the video image of the kick off.

As arlen said, click on the player you want to kick from. Even if you dont have the kick skill, lots of player have special animation for it and you should try all your players at one point. I especially like to always kick with a big guy.

Yeah i was initially hesitant to click on another player in case it ended up kicking it at the player instead of selecting him, and ruining the kick off. But it was misfounded, clicking on the player works :)
