Question on Goblin looney and SPP
In short: Can the chainsaw-wielding goblin looney gain SPP at all? I just injured a player with him but there was no SPP reward. I guess because chainsaw is not a normal attack?

The problem:what other way is there for him to gain SPP since he has "no hands" and cant pick up the ball....?

I think this should be changed so he gets spp for succesful blocks with the chainsaw... Why wouldn't chainsaw goblin get SPP for succeeding in what he is meant to do... Same goes probably for the ball and chain goblin. Theres even chainsaw-wielder star players in the lore..

Because he doesn't block. It's similar to stab as it immediately rolls on armor.

I think this is unfair for the goblins. DE Assassin at least has the option to block normally and pick up the ball, thus earning himself spp even if stab doesn't give any. The looney doesn't have that option. The only thing he is good for is that attack (or fouling). He is also handicapped by his attack possibly injuring himself and being a secret weapon...

No he doesn't. It was removed in LRB6 and is not there in BB2.

Also if one throws a block against the looney and this ends in a casualty for them (skull or bothdown), I'm pretty sure it gets +2 SPP

Chainsaw players can still get SPP's via MVP award, Passing completion, Scoring or Inflicting a casualty through a blocked encounter (as already stated in above responses) Literally the only thing he cannot get SPP's for is with the chainsaw (which is quite powerful) and is stated in the current rules.

https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/CRP1.pdf

''Casualties (CAS):
If a player causes an opposing player to be
removed as a Casualty then they earn 2 Star Player points. The
points are only earned if the play
er blocks an opponent or is
blocked by an opponent himself. Casualties inflicted in any other
way (including injuries inflicted by the crowd or from attacks with
chainsaws, bombs, or the Stab skill) do not count for Star Player
points.''

What is a bug as far as i can see with BB2 is the Ball and Chain Fanatic, he does attack via blocks (not some form of alternate dice rolls) and should be awarded SPP's for Casualties which the game currently doesn't.

Edited to add the Quote from LRB6. (if don't want to use link)

I'd personally like it if special weapons guys got 1SPP or 2SPP for successfully injuring a dude. It makes sense from a fluff perspective. It's their job to do that kind of thing. It's actually pretty hard to get cas with them anyways considering enemy teams avoid those pieces like the plague since they're better at injuring enemy players. They already have the limitation of automatically being sent off the pitch at the end of a drive, so why limit their SPP? If Assassins could earn a small amount of SPP for their stabs, people might be more interested in taking them.

I'm just not sure I understand the rationale behind no SPPs for secret weapon guys/stab guys. I could understand making the stab guys maybe 1SPP since they don't get sent off for daggers, but it's still hard to successfully stab opponents, and often in return they will pummel the hell out of your assassin.

pretty sure the fanatic does get SPP for causing injuries

They do but only on a regular block(his target need to be standing up)if they hurt something already on tge ground, they wont.

Which is correct. Cas SPP only come from blocks and they don't block prone players according to the B&C skill description:
A Prone or Stunned player in an
occupied square is pushed back and an Armour roll is made to see if he
is injured, instead of the block being thrown at him.

Nobody gets spp for foul actions. This is as it should be.

Please know what you are talking about. Fanatic CANNOT foul. They hurt people on the ground as part of their special rules.

Yeah I like the 1SPP for Secret weapons idea... sounds good;] Maybe a bit extreme but if bombadier could get it for bomb throw injuries... would go a long way to getting Hail mary;]
