Right. The problem here is one that this little detail is actually only a symptom.
There is another, older BB game, the Chaos Edition. After some years, that one is still a more complete, flexible and interesting game. The only upgrade here are the graphics. Among all those features in CE absent from BB2 is that one. Even speaking about cosmetics, like truly customizable colors and logos, race.-specific cheerleaders and actual visual progression when the players achieve new levels.
I really don't know what really BB2 is "badly in the need of", but I can't help but think about all those nice features the previous game had and are absent here. This is one of the very few instances when the sequel is apparently not designed to improve upon its antecessor. It i sad because I really like both games.
That said, I've seen the orc cheerleaders, and it's a bit disturbing.
