Doesn't matter who, why or how many times you killed him before he hit the ground, if a player ends up in the crowd you get nada, no exception.
I think this is fine for unmodified armor roles, that is when an attacking player doesn't have Mighty Blow/Claws and such. However I don't think a defending player should evade modified armor role by being knocked down into the crowd. If pushed then it's ok.
Keep in mind that surfing will always, 100% chance, get rid of an opposing piece for the rest of the drive, waaaaaay better odds than a knockdown with MB, Claw, Piling On followed by a 8 men gang foul.
When you roll a knock down the cut scene (if you have them on) will trigger for the knock down, making it seem as though you 'caused' the armor break.
As others have explained, when a player is pushed off the field, there is no actual armor roll, it automatically passes and only an injury roll is made. But that roll is done 'by the crowd' not 'your player'.
So no spp.
Like it dislike it, that's fine, just understand that it is the rule.
