Five Dwarfs, two Bull Centaurs, four Hobgoblins, three rerolls. Get the sixth Dwarf as soon as you can.

They're not too challenging a team to play- they're quite poor at ball handling to begin with, but they have a solid offence and they're fantastic on defence.

No mino.

Otherwise do whatever you like depending on how many rrs you want to start with.

Wha's with the mino hate? I get not taking one on a Chaos team, with their inherent unreliability and four ST 4 guys. Admittedly I've played a grand total of three games as CD, but it feels like their plethora of block and lower strength makes a big guy more desirable.

As a semi-derail, how do people feel about bull centaurs as blitzers v carriers?

Minos are terrible on any team.

And CD start with blackle and also have 2 ST4 guys, why are you using the unreliable Mino when you have actually more reliable players than Chaos has?

I'd say this is similar to the issue that Skaven have with the RO, but it's actually even worse for CD in that the Mino is basically totally eclipsed so early in development that you will stop using it much sooner than you would the RO.

You do have 2 of them ;)

But there is a legitimate split on if you carry with hobbers or with a Bull. I've done both depending on how my teams develop, and a blodge hobber with sure hands is a pretty good carrier. Even better if you get a +AG one. Though the usual caveat of AV7 applies, they are slower than a Bull (only because of sprint/sure feet), and ST3 means they are easier to get the ball off of even in a cage full of guard.

A bull with block, sure hands, break tackle (and dodge one hopes) is already a pretty tricky ball carrier to hit or to stop (so long as it only needs one dodge). ST4 can blitz out of marks much better than ST3 can. Lots of reasons to prefer the Bull carrier I think, but your skill rolls help shape the team certainly.

Also, block/dodge sure hands, break tackle and tackle is already a pretty solid blitzer, though not one who is fishing for casualties, but one who can play sweeper. You should be blitzing very little with the Bulls generally anyway, they are there for the 'positional' blitz, else you want to be hitting things as much as possible with your pomb (and claw) dwarfs.

As a general rule, I believe that Hobgoblins make better ball carriers early but the Centaurs take over more of the duties as they develop. Naturally a +AG or dodge on either piece can speed up or slow down the prcoess.

As for the Mino, there is a case for him because he's the 3rd best natural blitzer on the roster. Blockers are so slow and clumsy, Hobbos too weak. This can be especially helpful if you plan on toting the ball with a Bull. Personally, I like the mino over the 6th Dwarf.
