Why do people complain about R1 spam?

I've killed lots of people by hyper-tapping my R1 button and often times they complain about it in hate-mail to me.

I'm not one of those mindless button-smashers though. The thing is, if you're rolling around me and it's very easy for me to hit you mid-roll, you can bet your ass I'm gonna spam that button until you learn to stop rolling around me.

Like seriously literally every instance where R1 is effective is because you were too stupid, or too slow to roll away from, block, or parry it.

I mean am I really expected to just stop attacking someone when I have a valid chance to take their health down? If you roll away when I start tapping my R1 button I'm going to stop tapping it, simple as that. If you don't roll away and give me prime opportunities to spam that button on your ass I'm going to do it, like seriously why wouldn't I take those free hits on you? Because some imaginary code of honor says I should stop hitting you?

TL-DR: Stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about R1 spam, if you get hit by it, it's your own damn fault.

Well, you see, we live in a world where people complain about everything if it isn't in their favor, and/or are very sore losers. What you do doesn't matter, someone will eventually pop up and complain about it.

As everyone else says here, people just need to "git gud".

OR there is the slight possibility that lags make it about impoissible to properly dodge the phantomrange of weapons with a hight swingspeed and ridiculous tracking...but yes, one can avoid r1 spamming (actually not sarcasm)^^

Don't use anything but the lightest armor
Don't use gear that causes status effects
Don't use gear that prevents certain effects
Don't use gimmick gear
Don't use any weapons other than shortswords
Don't use weapons that have exotic movesets
Don't use any weapons that cause actual damage
Don't use ranged weapons

These simple tips will prevent you from becoming a tryhard. Also, if someone beats you, it's always proper to blame it on lag or cheating.

Pull the plug! Best counter. Also for some stupid reason, fist attack seems to be the only one who can still stagger you for 3/4 hits and removes 50% hp.

I would know that one with the fist attacks (i main vaquisher seal) , utterly imppossible to do that. Most of the time you can't even connect the first punch of the firstl1 to the second punch of the first l1...

That is actually strange, most poeple just instantly roll out after the first hit :/ well, nice if it works for you, though :) Btw liam, you propably just fought me, and i was not using oroboros built, other headpiece,leggings, gloves and ring setup ;)

Yup that's me ,but I just got wrecked by someone who poised through 3-4 punches, lol,

and to answer that second post, the roll out after the first punch of the first l1, but that could be a lag thing^^
