how do i max great resonant soul dmg?

It might be possible with the Abyss Seal (gives an extra 30% oomph to hexes) along with a dark infused Caitha's Chime.. but I don't have all the number at hand so I can't even test it.

I highly doubt that he was using GRS, as the max damage I've seen it deal is like 1.8k.

He was probably using Climax, which does around 3k damage with maxed ♥♥♥♥.

met him again and he used the spell repeatedly and it wasnt the first hit that hit me but i still got 1 shotted D:

Infuse a Dark Chime which focuses on Dark magic damage, then use the Abyss Seal and of course have a max of 500 souls for each charge you fire. You can probably buff it by reinforcing the chime.

never tried to block a spell but i think it will drain my stamina very quickly and that guy can shot very frequently

Dark scales from the lower of int/fath 40int and 25 fath it then scales from fath and vice versa.
