Human vs. 100% Health Hollow
Is there any real difference? I know that if you're hollow and you die, your max health goes down and down until eventually bottoming-out at 50%, but is there any disadvantage to being a hollow on 100% health?

The ones I know of so far all involve multiplayer in some way, or the NPC that attacks hollows. Is there any non-invasion reason to effigy back to human if I don't need the health?

Well, you can't do co-op (or summon npc's?) if you're hollow.

edit

Minor adjustment to a word.. a very vital word I might add.

Also dark pyromancy flame does more damage depending on how hollow you are.

Fixed your post, but so did you :)
You can just leave summon signs. Some npc's might react differently if you're human or hollowed. No other difference really. You look like a zombie and can't summon.

Sinners can hollow down to 5% hp

You look kinda ugly when hollowed. There's that.

At least one NPC will react differently to you if you're hollow or human. There's 2 doors in a particular area- one will only open if you're hollow, and the other will only open when human.

For regular play, stay hollow if it's not affecting you in any major way.

There's 2 rings that allow you to stay human if you dies, at the cost of breaking the ring (which can then be repaired by one of the blacksmiths), I tend to use these pretty much constantly, as you don't drop your souls when you die, which, in turn, allows you to experiment and try stupid things if you want to. IN early play, they're quite limited, and the 3k souls repair cost needs to be weighed up against the souls you gain from passing an area without losing your souls

Keep in mind that as you porgress into NG+ and beyond, you'll have more humanity than you know what to do with:)

Well you can't be hollow at 100% health, but i digress. Being hollow does the following.

It opens of the shrine of amana (or what ever its called)
It lowers your max hp (duh i guess)
It moves you down in matchmaking (nonhollows will get priority for pvp)
It disables shade and phantom summon signs from appearing
It prevents you from doing blue and red eye orbs.
It also makes you supsceptiable to Soul Appease ( a miracle spell that does about 900dmg in an aoe around the caster. It is quite powerful and will ruin your day in pvp if your hollow, soul appease does nothing to humans)

"Wretch"

Achieved by gaining 100 points of sin.
At this rank, your minimum HP as a hollow is no longer capped at 50%. It can be reduced all the way down to 5% HP (dying 19 times from human form).

Sounds perfect for a red tearstone ring build

red tearstone ring is only 20% damage boost.. you think its worth it? XD
But obviously noone will be down to 5% unless he want to.. you stumble across effigy every other step in this game.

Would the ring activate or would it activate at 30% of your current hollowed max hp? I can totally see it activating if you phantom with the low hp, I'm just not sure if it would in your game, until you came back anyway.

The Dark Pyromancy Flame isn't worth it unless you're fully hollow with 50% health. The Pyromancy Flame is a lot better for that reason alone. Why would you want to play with half your health in order to get the most out of an item.
