Yes, and once you join the Company of Champions covenant you won't be able to multiplayer

You won't be able to co-op, but people can still invade you. Just to clear it up. It's basically, solo-mode.

Should add - you can leave it to re-enable co-op.

only co-op. you get awestones from invasions.

You only get invaded by bell keepers and rats
