Is the Belfry Gargoyles boss optional ?

I have defeated the lost sinner already. And I think after the Bell Gargoyles it's just a dead end. Am I right ? I would like to skip this boss fight 4 at once is pretty tough.

after the bell gargoyles you'll get the key with which to unlock all the iron bar doors that are locked, so you decide.

You don't really need to beat them to unlock him.

Belltower and Rat Cov areas are all optional.

You get the bastille key from the area after the gargoyles. Its really only useful if you haven't beaten the sinner already, as you can unlock the gates above her arena to light some torches, so you can see her and keep a lock on during the fight. There are some other locked gates around but nothing that I can think of that is really worthwhile.

Although having said that, the gargoyles are very easy, especially if you come back to do them later on, so if you've already beaten the sinner, you can probably forget about them for now and do them before you go to NG+,

well the things you get from the bastille key of note that i remember are a fire seed (for pyromancy flame improvement) and a petrified dragon bone (for boss weapon improvement)

It's optional but recommended. You get a key to unlock a very important blacksmith's door.

well or you could just blow up the wall with an explosive barrel

In fact its reccomended as the door way can somtimes agro the dogs in and thats never good.
