I would say don't do it, because the sword that he drops in New game isn't worth it. Now, during New Game Plus, one could definitely argue for killing him.
both him and vengarl the headless are pretty tanky
You can get rid of sin. There is a dude for that right after the Skeleton Lords (Go outside, left and up the ladder)
He does not remove sin, he only removes aggression.
Also, it is after the Prowling Magus & Congregation, not the Skeleton Lords.
Exhaust his dialog when you first see him and you'll be able to summon him for 4 boss fights. Prowling Magus, Looking Glass Knight, Giant Lord, and "Final Boss". Making sure to exhaust his dialog each time you see him between fights will progress his questline towards the achievement. Finishing his questline (3 of the 4 Boss fights), he will part with his gear in the Memory of Orro but you'll notice he gives you a faux version of his sword. Advancing to NG+ by using an ascetic in Brightstone Cove Tseldora after completing the game, you'll need to fight Dukes Dear Freja again to earn the Old Paledrake soul to trade for the Moonlight Greatsword with Ornifax.
Yeah, sorry I get my bosses mixed up :P
