My plan too lol. I should be able to get most of Titanfall out of my system by that outside of an occasional gamign session.
true that, 2 days till titanfall and a month later it's a six month Dark Souls marathon.
omg
this.
Its this way, they say "Lead Platform", because it is the Platform providing the best hardware and so they just have to downscale the power of the game to fit on other systems. Ofcourse the PC is now Leadplatform, because they started to port the game from Consoles to PC, they now have to make sure, that they get the best result and so have to develop the whole game with PC Hardware in mind, which is ofcourse better than the Consoles Hardware. But that doesnt mean anything, it is less of a technical aspect and more a financial aspect behind this thought of "Lead Platforms". They also could take away the PC and do it for the WiiU and call that the Leadplatform and then change everything so it also works on 360 and PS3 just, that then they had the problem, that the game would look insanely bad. You dont develop your games with the weakest hardware in mind, you develop it for the Platform with the best Hardware and then downscale it for the other Platforms.
Is that new for you? In the End "Lead Platform"doesnt mean anything really.
If they had decided to not release it for PC but for PS4 instead, they had taken the PS4 as Leadplatform because it is the better Hardware.
If they dont develop it on the better hardware, they have to port it later on and so the result is worse, but when before developing with the better hardware they can provide a better result.
The last DS Game was ported to PC afterwards, but now the new Title was developed for PC aswell from start.
The other thing is, that Consoles have a big advantage over PCs for Developers, they dont have to mess with many different Software and Hardware configurations/combinations to make sure the game is running for all. Thats why many people buy consoles, to make sure they actually can play it without real problems.
That PC is the lead platform means that the game is developed for PC then ported to consoles. You are completely wrong lol
This game, according to the developers was developed FOR the PC first, and ported to the consoles, not the other way around. It's not stupid rhetoric, it's about optimization and design. For christ's sake, you'd think people really don't know ANYTHING about game development. Many games are designed multi-platform. Games for the WiiU: made on a PC. Games for Android: made on a PC. Games for PS4: made on a PC. The platform it's developed ON has NOTHING to do with the platform it's developed FOR.
The ignore part was aimed at you, cause you are wrong.
I didn't read his whole post because it was a wall of text, but DS2 IS developed for PC. They literally said that months ago.
That's what the thread is about, yes. NemesisZidar's definition of "lead platform" is however false, that's what we are arguing about! XD
It's not a port. They said so themselves
