If you only have one of the spell enchants for your weapons, you want to go with that damage type. If you get the other later, you can switch it fairly easily anyway.
The transgressors shield when you add a dark stone to it gives 100% dark magic reduction its allso a small shield so it gives you a good parrying shield (has the same parry frames as the buckler/target shield.)
He has 52 faith, hes going to get more mileage out of a fire/lighting infuesed weapon than a regular +10 anyway.
