End of Chapter 3 Story Discussion HEAVY SPOILERS Discussion
I just finished Chapter 3 and it makes absolutely no sense. I'm trying to figure out if I missed something or what because I thought of a lot of ways it could have been resolved but none of them happened. I did the final interrogation of the chapter, the cutscene played, I then sat there dumbstruck as none of that made sense. I really don't think the writing is this bad. So if someone can explain. I'm putting my thoughts in spoiler just in case someone stumbled in here.

So, Mick says he's going to shoot them and then put them into MEAT. It's said during the interrogation. The cutscene just shows Mick shoot 3 bullets (based on the casings), Marty jump in front and then Mick just...drives off? Excuse my language but what the ♥♥♥♥? That makes absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no sense. Without any interruptions, Mick should have shot Marty, then just walked over and shot Sonny. Then they should have been thrown into the MEAT factory. Instead...Mick just drives off after only shooting Marty? There's nothing in this scene that even explains how Marty escaped. I honestly expected Filmar to show up, based on the dialogue of him following them, and then firing off a few shots, causing Mick to run and not completing the job. Or hell, ANY CHARACTER TO SHOW UP AND SAVE THEM OF THE MANY POSSIBILITIES! Not for the game to cease making any sense whatsoever and Mick to then just not do what he said he would do. I'm going to finish this story and hope it gets better or this gets explained because otherwise, this is such a large plot hole it kind of ruins any and all suspension of disbelief I had in this story.

Hey, thanks for your thoughts.
Heavy spoiler from now on - From the writer:

Mick has a loud mouth. He's a gangster. A wiseguy. He pretends to be a big fish and that he's in control while also admitting there's someone behind him. He didn't really want to kill the Chickens, he wanted them to find out the secret of the MEAT and then blow it up. Kayla told him to do so, and Kayla explains this perfectly, and thoroughly in the last big monologue at the end of the game.

If Sonny is dead and the secret of the MEAT is not out by the Chicken Police (who are real and legit symbols for Clawville), there will be no chaos, no anarchy, which is Kayla's goal.

Of course, Mick said he was going to kill them on the spot because he likes to bask in the fear of those he despises. But if he killed both of them, he would be screwing Kayla's grand plan. And he's too selfish and cowardly to do that.
