How does interrogation grading work?

I've been through a couple of interrogations at this point, and I'm not sure what determines the star rating. I've generally tried to play good cop, and work with the subject's personalities, but for example, Zenaida, who I couldn't get a perfect read on, I ended up with a mixed result, but got 3 stars, while Lupus, I managed to get nearly all Good Cop options, but got only 1 Star... so I'm confused as to what determines your star ranking.

You get points negative or positve . Not always the good cop option is the +. You have to reach the slider to the most of either left or right side.

You will find out more with trying out various ways - takes a bit time, but is fun. And, introducing words by Sonny are important and helpful for your approach

Basically, it is a "good cop" vs "bad cop" system. You can either "open" the characters or "break" them. Both are totally valid options and both have 5-star rating solutions.

but how it applied to the achivement for finishing the game with 0 failed questioning?

because I just finished with all 5 stars in every interrogations

I think that if you land on grey area at the end of interrogation it is treated as a failed one. I’m guessing that you had 5 stars for some of them after failing and hitting Retry button.

I don't think, because you can only get 5 stars if you finished in the yellow zone (both good and bad cop) and I played most of them being a good cop.

And I never retry, except in the first interrogation

Maybe you are right, I retryed a couple of times in the first interrogation maybe the game it counted as a failed question.

I can confirm that staying in grey results in a fail.

Got 100% I can confirm if you retry, it counts a failed questioning.
