is there sex? 18+ patch?
not that I would only play visual novels with these kinds of elements, but. I had to ask.

You can check the Visual Novel Database website for this information. Simply search for the visual novel on the site, which will lead you to the VN information and all of its releases, grouped by language. This includes the Steam release and any official DLC/patches, if available.

VNDB is primarily an information website and community database for VNs. It does not include any illegal download or pirate links, so it should be safe to mention this site here.

Sadly, I am not a frequenter to the genre so I'm not sure I know where to look or what to do.

a bit of googling brings me to ryuugames.com, is that it as an additional patch? or would that simply be downloading the same game twice?
VinTJ - by this link is full game with 18 + patch in one pack

... did you mean to send a link? or you mean ryuugames?

so is there a place where it's just an 18+ patch?

That's actually a pirate website. People aren't allowed to link to certain external patches on Steam which might be why the other person just described it as 'the usual site'.

I imagine if you join the Shiravune Discord, you'll find the information there.

yep, figured as much. I don't want to download two games, and I prefer having my games on steam from now on.

thanks!

This publisher will release the patch on "johren games". If you are still worried about not finding it, you can join the official Discord.:iw_kanae:

Can anybody tell me if it's censored (mosaics) after the patch? Not a deal-breaker, but Johren self-censors everything, so it's hard to tell.

For all those still searching for the patch you can find it in Shiravure's website. In the patches section.

thank you! I should still use vndb more often for JP VNs lol, but I guess the next, more straightforward step is to see who is listed under "publisher" on the store page for these things, and then see if they have a website. I now realize that's probably what I should start doing from now on!
