Can the game be hacked with Cheat Engine?

Hello, are there any known cheat functions or can the game be hacked with Cheat Engine? Thank you.

There isn't much point at the moment. If you just want credits backup and edit your saves.

Yes you can use Cheat Engine to alter things like Money ingame. I just tried this.

Edit: b_watson77 is right. The Savegames are not encoded at all and can be edited with the simple windows editor program. Everything is in plain text there. Factions, money etc and can be edited easily.

Game is completely opened for modding so there is no reason to use third party software. You can open your save game with notepad and edit your credits, XP, even reputation, ship and other data. ;)

Can you point me to the right file (the path)?

Your save game mainly. You can remove fog of war there, add credits, XP...
