Starpoint Gemini 2

Starpoint Gemini 2

Statistiche:
salvaging
Is salvaging not implemented fully, or am i just doing it wrong? i bought salvage drones and found a derelict ship and used the context menu to activate the drones but nothing happens. I can blow up the derelict ship and collect stuff but i can't figure out how to salvage.

Here's the exerpt from the pinned updates:

ADDED: Some equipment is now operational (both actual gameplay bonus as well as activation visual effect)
Shield booster - Amplifies shield recharge rate
Damage amplifier - Increases both light and heavy weapon damage
Speed booster - Increases maximum speed
Energy defense field - Grants resistance to Energy based damage
Projectile defense field - Grants resistance to Projectile based damage
Plasma defense field - Grants resistance to Plasma based damage
EMP defense field - Grants resistance to EMP based damage
Radiation defense field - Grants resistance to Radiation based damage
Hull integrity field - Increases Soak (general resistance to any kind of damage)
Borehole torpedo - Fire a special torpedo into asteroids. The torpedo has a wide blast radius and grants increased asteroid loot yield.
Atlas defense field - this is a new piece of equipment (community suggested) that can shoot down enemy missiles and torpedoes. Eventually it will also work on enemy fighter crafts.

so alas no Salvage drones operational yet, lost some of my cash too on them drones, before I read the post more clearly ;)

Yep, sorry for the confusion people. That part of equipment isn't functional yet, but as you've seen, equipment is becoming functional as of last update. We'll try to make the rest of it complete as soon as possible :)
I feel i must be misunderstanding since i dont see a lot of ranting posts about this :)

I am level 3 on the campaign mode. Very early quests is asking me to salvage a fuel case.. but i have not been able to figure out how to salvage.

This post makes it sound like it is not working yet but that seems odd. For a main story quest to be incompleteable so soon after stARTING THE GAME.

Anyone know what I can do to progress? I dont see a lot of post onthis so i assume i am being blind. Thanks!
There is an equipment for this - scavenger drones (yes it works)

Buy some at a station (not every one has), mount them in one of your equipment slots.
Once you find an appropriate object (i.e. derelict), target it and use that equipment slot.
You need to wait a bit, it takes some time for the drones to do do their job.
Once it is over, you can collect the wares.

You just bumped a 2 year old thread. Use the context menu (it's a button - find it in controls) and there might be a salvage context button if you click the thing to be salvaged.

If that's not the case, salvage drones does the job too, yop.
There is a early main quest storyline for this game which requires 'salvaging' a something or the other from the 'nearby junkyard'

I am on XBOX ONE

Press X and there is no option for salvage.

I must say this game is one of the most obscure and 'unfinished' feeling games I have played on xbox in decades.

So far - loads of potential in this obscure game but very difficult to figure out what to do....

------------------------------------------

Wow! ok...

For all you 2 or 3 other xbox one players heres what to do at this mission:

Press the B button and keep it pressed
use L stick to navigate to the 'SCAVENGER SWARM' power on the right.
Keep the stick highlighted on the power and release B
You will see some fly like objects release from your ship and fly around for a bit...

Then it will inform you that its all done and the quest is complete.

WOW! talk about giving players absolutely NO clue as to how to do ANYTHING in this game...

We are always trying to help our players but since console community is pretty closed, it's hard to reach them. We have our Xbox One subforum on www.starpointgemini.com/forum but I'm glad you came here.

Since this is one of the most complex games on console at the moment, learning curve is steeper. There is a guide that is accessible via menu and everything that you mentioned is clearly explained there. You might say that nobody reads tutorials, but with complex space games that are slowly coming to consoles, this is becoming necessary. Reading and going through tutorials on PC is considered normal. EvE Online, for example has 2 hour long tutorial just to grasp the basics.

So yes, it's complex, it takes some time to get into it, but most feedback we got from our players were very positive. If you have any questions, we are here and happy to answer. :)
