Report a translation problem
As for scanning I can tell you how to do that with a mouse. target object to be scanned, must be with 300 units to scan, bring up the context menu, for the mouse it is the middle mouse button, choose option to scan. IMO the game has too many controls to use a gamepad effectively enough for my tastes.
I'd also recommend using mouse and KB for the moment, since controllers still have some issues.
Saving can only be done on stations/planets; an autosave will be made whenever you undock somewhere.
I assume you've started the campaign, since you didn't get the tutorial right away.
It's a bit strange that in the Campaign the tutorial only startts after the first story mission...
