Best way to make money?

So I think the tittle says it all, I am having trouble making a decent amount of money, the only good paying jobs are the smuggling ones and even then it is only 15k or so. I have found that nabbing and selling ships nets some good cash but the problem is it is a damn swing or a miss situation and I can only seem to actuall steal tiny little gunships. Can some one give me some advise on how to better make some money as I would love to be able to get a bigger and better ship then the Myrmadon.

So far the best way I've found is ignoring missions all together and just going out and killing stuff. Selling cargo stolen from other ships can net a LOT of cash, and it's pretty fast to. I don't see the contracts yielding much though, normally you have to kill 250+ ships before you get any type of return.

This works well for me. A bit tedious and boring, but it keeps the money flowing in.

my guess is that until they start putting up some campaigns with major rewards at the end money will be a bit hard to come by. just cheat yourself some cash if you want to see what capital ships are like

Save up and buy a wolverine class corvette, 50 troopers is nice in the beginning for nabbing the ships with 10-35ish troops, occasionally you can get a 40 troop frigate medusa class if it's engaged with friendlies. Easy way to build up some good cash at lower levels.

ATM the game is not ballanced income/level/price wise.
If you really want to explore and have fun I suggest modding in your self some cash and going to town :P
