Choosing DLC?
When I start the game it has several choices what DLC to run with. How am I supposed to know what to pick?

This feature exists to give players the choice which content they want to play.
If you are not sure, take the last choice. This will let you play all content (except Origins) in the same playthrough.

ok, it's quite confusing for new players without any info. It's STILL confusing about, so Origins is meant to play after all the rest?

Origins is a port of SPG1, so it is meant to be played separatly.
Most players find it more difficult than the base game, so it is better to keep it for last.

Origins is a complete original Starpoint Gemini campaign ported to new engine. It was released because our community asked for it and that's the reason why it's free and bundled with the base game.

Origins is not tied to SPG2 in story, it's happening 20 years in the past with different captain so you can play SPG2 with Secrets of Aethera and Titans first, and then play Origins if you feel like it.

Origins is a bit harder and it's not recommended before beating SPG2.

Thanks, I had the same question... a few months ago I started the game, did not know what to choose, turned off the game and was like "ugh... I'll deal with this later." This for me was an impulse sale purchase, but after reading a few reviews I really want to try it as I was a big fan of freelancer and I keep hearing this game is like a spiritual successor.

Out of curiosity, what's so hard about Origins? I'm going through it now and aside from certain ships I'd want being in hostile stations, it's pretty solid. The story missions are actually more fun too with all the fleet battles.

Origins story missions are significantly harder.
The plot will progressively also make you hostile with most of Gemini.
Outside the plot, many areas spawn higher level opponents.

That makes sense. But the "downtime" between main missions helps a lot with pacing. This should've carried over into SPG2.

Agreed but unfortunately, many things that players said were bad in SPG, we changed for SPG2. Then new players said it's bad and suggested it should've been done as in original. We will never be able to please everyone, we are aware of that. But we try. Origins is, as far as I know, the biggest free DLC on Steam. :)

I buyed few days ago Starpoint Gemini 2 and I started with the Origin DLC becouse i want to follow the plot.

I just want to say a big "Thank you" for this awsome free DLC.
I never play the first game and Origin let me play the whole experience.

I don't know if is the biggest FREE DLC, but is the Best FREE DLC I ever play and also better than a lot of paid DLC.

I will save money to buy a new PC to play warlords.

help !
in the main menu i have to choose to run with or wothout dlc origin. but, i cant chose! with pad or keyboard, it doesnt move so i cannot choose "with origin dlc" ?
it is well installed though...
is this a bug?

Aah cool, Steam often forgets to download all the files necessary for the game to run properly. :-/
