I hope they don't take long to provide controller support, Yes its in pre alpha etc, but it's like releasing a game IMO) and saying.... wait till we include controls support, til then enjoy the start screens and menu's. LOL
UPDATE:
* It's a bit too physical to play with mouse and keyboard. (IMO)

I can personally vouch for it on 8.1(i did purchase it though for the latest version). I bought it soley for DD2 and it works a treat. It doesn't take rocket science if you can read the instructions/forums. Hell, i'll share my profile with you if your using an xbone controller and cba configuring your own. Exactly where did you source the "poor user rating"?
If you check the user reviews the reason it's low is because only 4 people have rated it. Of those 3 have given it 9 and one hasn't rated it because he couldn't get it working on windows 7. He obviously just used any old link of the net for it. Softonic themselves rate it highly too.
* Basically I don't want to have to turn off Xpadder if it causes issues with other games, when I don't need it. Don't want too much bloat ware in a sense.
If you purchase it check out the buyers forum, might already be one for your controller in there. Otherwise it's quite easy to set up a profile for dd2. Youtube has a couple of videos tutorials too.
