There really isn't a "Best class" since there are two ways to play.

You either build or you help DPS with the right armor. Hybriding isn't really... i'd say good.

You'll want to figure out first what you want to do... if you're going to solo... you're going to have to build.... and at that point it's all about how you want to set up your lanes and figure out what you want to do that feels right. Towers synergize well with each other very well so figuring out what towers you want to combo is all about the building side.

On the flip side you have DPS. If you build more on a DPS level you're probably going to help others for the most part. Figuring out how you build DPS is really up to you but anything Hero Damage wise and resistances are you way to go.

It's all about how you want to play really so... there really isn't a "best class" it's just basically... "What works with others?"

Any of them can really do anything. It's for the most part, Armor is what sets you apart from the crowd.

For myself since i'm a builder I use my Squire for Barricades\Physical DPS, My Monk for Boosts\Sky Guard and my Apprentice for Slows\Magic DPS.

Now other character's towers are more used than others. I don't see many Huntress traps\towers around... though i'm sure if built right she can be just as good as others. While the game gets more developed i'm sure there will be even more interesting combos with the characters.

Heh. I'm not an expert yet with DD2. I don't even have a 50 yet. But I know a lot about Dungeon Defenders itself. I have like 600 hours in the first game. This is basically just what i've learned playing the game so far and learning how others play :)

yea lets not be b/s'ing.. monk and hunter suck for building. they both have a couple tools but you are not going to stop high level content WITH those tools. it comes down to the definition of best really.. squire and apprentice are both more developed for building than the other 2, and from there it comes down to the preferance of doing ranged or melee damage. if i had to pick a "best" it would be the apprentice because they have powerful traps AND they dont have to get their hands dirty to do damage (so way lower risk), plus that tornado is REALLY powerful vs. the squires rather pedestrian special attacks.

I suppose you're right with the Apprentice. He can do a lot with his towers... his barricades though won't cut it. I wasn't really BSing as I believe Trendy is designing this game so that character synergize with each other and how you combo your builds and character's abilities is their full intention which is nice.

In the current state of the game... sure... some characters over perform but as the grand picture I believe... for the most part we'll see some changes and new combos to help the other characters out.

Not here to be a ♥♥♥♥ or anything, but you're quite wrong in your statement that monk and huntress suck for building :P

Anyone doing high lvl content right now are probably using squire walls, huntress traps, monk serenity, Skyguards and Frost tower as main towers. Of course thats not the only viable way to do it, but it's probably the easiest.
To me high lvl content is nm1 and above :)

bonus info: Currently the huntress is by far the best DPS hero because her Stickynades (uber sphere) are so insanely strong compared to any other ability in the game ^^

yea for DPS she rocks. do a nm 1 map with JUST her traps. do you get it now? same with monk, you can "get by" with the other 2 classes doing all your traps, but those 2 are weak in the trap dept. and THATS OBVIOUS. yes the anti-air turret and the banner are "useful" but without other classes you cant survive. same with the huntress traps, 1 here or there is great, but a whole map full of them spells defeat.

so im not wrong in the least, you just dont get that im talking about 1 character doing the traps.
