dark assassins solution
Dark Assassins have become my white whale. but I have a solution.

bridge the gap between the dark assassins of DD1 and DD2. what do I mean by this? a cloaked, (invisible to towers) on foot, charger. essentially, it charges players disregarding towers, while towers also ignore it, up until it reaches and strikes the player, at which point it becomes visible to towers. tho it would be invisible to towers, players could still see it charging thru crowds, giving them an opportunity to stop them before they attack. with this, they could continue to fulfill their role of discouraging idle play and boosting, while still being an engaging and fair enemy to deal with mechanically. them being on foot would also prevent the issue of maps like the throne room where you can disregard them entirely.

Uh...EV for Reflect Beam? To counter snipers and projectiles? Lol

Point being, merc is one hero that can deal with assassins. Barbarian is another.

There are other neutral hero shards that I used a lot before merc or barb appeared in the roster. That dealt dmg to enemies that struck the hero at % chance.

How about using Taser Suit shard for a chance to stun them, or use the Pest Control mod. Or get Tenacity 10/10 on all 4 pieces of armor. There's plenty of ways to deal with them.

This is a grind game, you always have to start grinding at a certain point. For the first chaos tiers, it's just X shard and good placement. For the higher chaos levels, it's characters, mods and hyper shards. You do not need to buy a character, just find a way to stun them with an elemental combo and/or get yourself snake skin armor from Wildest West. It's game changing since it gives more HP and resistance.
More info about elemental combos : https://wiki.dungeondefenders2.com/wiki/Elements
If you're looking for a list with all things in the game that do a certain element, go to https://wiki.dungeondefenders2.com/wiki/? and replace ? with the element
e.g Fire : https://wiki.dungeondefenders2.com/wiki/Fire

Sab, this guy only has like a hundred hours or so. His limited thought process on countering & building seems limited by his imagination. It's a wasted effort.

you're such a weird petulant little loser. do you have anything going on in your life or is white knighting for dungeon defenders 2 your only outlet? you're never productive or helpful, you're just an edgy loser

Nah, I just like pointing out flaws in your otherwise limited concept of adapting. But nice strawman argument *blows kisses*

Already in C10 and still argues about Assassins when they don't exist anymore other than Onslaught or Skarnash. Many solutions have been given already to counter them given on a silver platter. Take them and use them or leave it to rot.

hey goober, just because I no longer experience something personally, doesn't mean I need to start being complacent. and over my hundreds of hours in the game, this enemy has stuck with me as the laziest and most poorly designed. EVERY other enemy in the game, minus some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bosses, can be dispatched without receiving damage as long as you deal with them correctly. and no other normal enemy stuns you, that's a power left for bosses, except this one enemy who simultaneously happens to be unavoidable. I can't think of a single unavoidable enemy, much less one with an extensive stun, in any game that has been met with anything other than contempt and annoyance. because that sort of thing, nowadays, is rightly seen as a cheap and half assed means of inflating difficulty. if you simps didn't have thousands of hours already, you wouldn't be defending this ♥♥♥♥.

no need to be complacent, need to learn to adapt.

so you basically want enemies that can be dispatched without receiving damage and not being stunned? have you tried just fighting the tavern dummies?

but like princess has mentioned, the enemy isn't actually unavoidable. learn to counter, etc.etc.

meh, seems like you simp more for this game than us since you seem to come back over and over when you clearly hate it :D

Improvise, Adapt, Overcome, might come in handy. Or am I hearing Proposal, Nerf, Ridicule coming from this thread.!? Come here to help, give helpful options and now ima go...flies away

i'm gonna stop wasting my time talking to a wall. you don't respond to anything I actually say. you're braindead.

real quick, just out of curiosity I decided to look at other discussions to see if you do this often, and wow you're prolific. i bet if somebody shined a little light on your personal life you'd be a really entertaining lolcow. either that or you're some deranged loser working at chromatic who loves fighting with fans of the game.

Out of curiosity I decided to look at yours and look and behold. Nothing but complaints about how difficult games are.

Awwww how cute that you take the time to invest time in me baby. Love you lots.

i've only got two posts and they're basically about the same singular complaint i have about the game's design. i don't even wanna bother getting into detail about it to you anymore. i've thought about this enemy and this game's design a lot as i've been playing it, and i think there are better alternatives. agree to disagree. i'd say get on with your life but this is seemingly all you do so whatever

At all your previous post history on other games I mean...so much complaining about a games difficulty.

There are plenty of playstyles to use and adapt to counter enemies. But like you stated, I have sooo many hours I obviously don't know what I'm talking about.

This is simply a skill issue. Assassins can be countered in over 10 different ways, and can be countered without taking any damage if you build correctly. Have you tried getting better?
