It was actually stated that gilded/hypershards/shards in general would loose all upgrades, including gold used if placed in shard vault due to the way vault shard was coded/programmed.
I mean, in all honesty if you are placing gilded shards/upgraded hypershards thats kinda of a big idiotic move on your part.
Actually, it's nothing that should be put on the player base. They should make it so the shard CANNOT be moved to the shard vault or if should give a giant warning. This is a massive fail on Trendy's part for not implementing such a simple safety feature for the playerbase.
The warning was literally given in the update notes LOL.
But if anything it is a massive fail on both parties then. A fail on Chromatic (Not trendy anymore btw) for not adding such a failsafe and a fail on the playerbase for not reading update notes.
It's a bummer and hurt some more than others. But I think no matter what, there wasn't anyway for them to make a proper storage vault, due to the games engine.
As someone who also lost many millions learning the hard way, I'm super happy we have the shard vault, since shards took up over 90% of my bags and bank spaces.
There is a huge difference between upgrade notes and in-game.
It is a massive fail on Trendy, not the players. The amount of players that read release notes are less than 10% of any playerbase.
not on trendy and not on the players? so no one is at fault? okay got ya.
*chuckles* Meant fault on Trendy.
My only frustration is they implement some great features at times. But they don't completely consider the customer or user experience. Some of these can and have hurt the playerbase at large. Things like this should be caught in QA.
Don't get me wrong, huge fan of the game. Not a huge fan of the way the team behind it does things at times. And not a huge fan of their closed community groups that have "helped" with development decisions. Some of those have been deplorable.
But trendy doesn't exist anymore. it's actually chromatic games...
You also have to SEARCH for the updates if you look in many areas on steam you see NOTHING.
This blurb also is incorrect as it states it's limitless but then says up to 3000 shards (limitless = 3000)....so even in this posting they are giving incorrect information. They also don't warn there will be massive gold loss to store shards you bought bags and vault spaces to store them just fine with UPDATES in tact.
The vault is a great idea but it's implementation is extremely poor. If you can do it in vaults and bags, how about develop a real Shard Vault that doesn't cause massive loss in productivity in grinding out gold to invest in your shards.
This is just proof to the half baked ideas without taking into account community impact.
Blurb:
Shard Vault
Introducing the Shard Vault
! Professor Proteus has refined his Stash System, providing players with the ability to up to 3000 shards after purchase of the new vault. Do note, while the Shard Vault is limitless in capacity, stored shards will have any upgrades removed. Gilded shards will not lose their gilded status, however.
"stored shards will have any upgrades removed" = any and all gold used in upgrading said shards will be lost if shard is placed in vault
"Gilded Shard will not lose their gilded status" = Shards that have been gilded will not be reverted to non-gilded status aka broken back into 11 shards. Meaning they will retain their gilded status.
with that said, if they stated "Gilded Shards and Hyper Shards will not loose any Upgrades from Gold when placed in Vault" then yes, Chromatic would be in the fault for their idiotic move on their vault shard update.
I believe you are confusing Limitless with Unlimited....
Your explanation is much more "user" friendly and better aligns to being "correct"
Also I'm not confusing anything. You can see definition below. Saying it's "limitless" then opposing a "limit" contradicts the term, and honestly being a developer myself they are lying. There are limits to what you can store in tables etc...which really is all player inventories are. So neither term is in fact true and they should just state that it is "Limited" to 3000 Shard storage until they see a need to expand that limit and charge the players for the right to use the higher storage.
Unlimited (adjective): Something has had no limits placed on it. It implies that it could be limited but is not. A child growing up in a free society has unlimited opportunities to create a life that they want.
Limitless (adjective): Something is free to go anywhere without barriers in the way. It implies that the thing itself has no limits; there is no implication that the thing could be limited. It is possible that the physical universe’s expansion is limitless, that it will continue to expand into an infinite nothingness.
The point I was making is it's not "limitless" and I didn't see details that mention it will stack to 100 shards, I think that's an assumption, also the same shard with guilded shards creates a new stack.
Also I read pop-ups and warnings so that would do something, just because you can ignore it in games or choose don't show me, that's up to you and in code this is something so simple to do to give another heads up that hey what you are going to do has consequences. You don't have to spend a fortune in $$$ you can always grind back the gold, wasting your time due to something that could have been avoided if they explained it better or did something easy to develop as a reminder to players.
I enjoy there is a Shard storage but it could have been done "MUCH BETTER". It's a half backed and lazily developed solution that should have been done years ago.
