Was definately exploitable in DD1 though when every addiontal player meant additional rewards at the end of the map, allowing you to effectively dupelicate challenge rewards while playing solo just by plugging in 3 more controllers.
If they were to implement a single account split screen, it would be different than how the PS4 version works, so they'd be effectively supporting 2 different systems for each platform for no good reason as a band aid because some people can't wait for the game to be developed.
A single account system would bring a ton of issues such as if both players were to not be locked to the same deck, this system could be exploited so that anyone could use splitscreen to technically have a deck of 8 heroes.
So deck would have to be locked, if the deck is locked, and both players use the same heroes, what happens if one of them switches gear? so now you're in a situation where you gotta lock the inventory as well.
You can't allow the 2nd player to get medals, gold, drops or exp, because again this could be exploited by a single person to get double rewards.
So now you got this whole mode that locks the 2nd player into not being able to do much at all, and probably wasted a ton of development into this temporary crappy splitscreen mode that won't even make it to the release version to begin with since they're not planning to do splitscreen this way at all to begin with.
Is this really worth the trouble for a temporary poorly made solution that wasn't intended? Yea, sure, let's stop the team's development for like a month to get on this, and then another month so they can fix all the bugs from it.
Drop the try hard edgy wannabe expert attitude. Life tip for ya there bud.
I don't take tips from individuals that I don't respect, so you can keep your advice.
I don't care if there's a dozen of you, doesn't change anything.
As far as we know, the people who want split screen is a really small minority. Meanwhile, There's issues just trying to run the game, connecting to the servers, numerous glitches, bugs, crashes and real messed up balance issues.
That still seems a bit more of a priority for the dev team.
And again, they said this will be implemented, they just have to get their act together first. But before that can even happen, they'll need Valve to figure a way for them to do it.
We know some people want it, and they said they'd put it in. the game hasn't released yet, it's still being made, so can you guys actually wait for it to be done?
Dungeon Defenders was a great success, because it had local co-op mode. I am still playing 4 players local co-op. This was the first game my wife played on PC with me. Now we play with our two children. My family was very disappointed, when I launch Dungeon Defenders 2 and there was no local co-op mode. We are still waiting, but this is too long time, so we play the first part of Dungeon Defenders. The more disappointed is fact, that Dungeon Defenders 2 for PS4 has got such mode for a long time. Are you going to add such mode or not? It's the simple question.
Sincerely
@UTAVATU ofc they will add it. but they need help from valves side.
