Black screen with audio and cursor?

fullscreen or window mode? Perhaps try ALT+Enter - sometimes switching between fullscreen and window mode fixes these things.

Could play before patch now cant start the game, just black screen and game loads forever, meaning not at all. Hope it gets fixed soon...

Go to where the game is installed, and navigate to the following directory:

\Dungeon Defenders 2\DunDef2\UDKGame\Config

Then delete (or cut to a separate folder if you want to back them up in case it doesn't work) all the files that start with UDK. There should be around 14 of them.

After you do this, Verify Your Game Cache on Steam:

1. Open your Steam library
   
2. Right-click "Dungeon Defenders II" (http://i.imgur.com/UyPCa.jpg)
   
3. Select "Properties" (http://i.imgur.com/JvLz2.jpg)
   
4. Select "Local Files" (http://i.imgur.com/TO5wC.png)
   
5. Select "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" (http://i.imgur.com/IZDGD.png)

Once you do the two things above, try re-running and see if that has an impact. You'll find the files will re-create themselves once you run the game.

Tried what you suggested and it worked.*

There were 29 files, Steam redownloaded 19.

It still took a bit of time for the game to go past that black screen with the cursor, so I thought it didn't work for a few seconds =D...

It was fixed but when I changed my setting to fulscreen windowed, it came back

Same for me , the fix works a little , still 20-30 secondes to wait for the game to appear (waiting with blackscreen after trendy logo) instead of 1-2 min.
So it still not working , like it s trying to load a video or something and nothing happends , in windows mode up in the corner , while blackscreen happends with mouse cursor freeze, it s written "the game doesn't respond" like a big lag of 20-30 s.
Thx to fix it if possible. The game was working fine before the patch , no blackscreen, no waiting, no unable to respond. (it does this each time i launch the game).
I have delete and reinstall the whole game, i have done your potential fix on my new installed game, nothing good (just a little less of waiting while the screen freeze, but still freezing)
Windows mode or full screen mode won't change anything in my case , freeze in full or windows as well.

Got this problem too. Deleted the files, and verified. Even completely uninstalled and re-downloaded the game again.

♥♥♥♥ this. Game went downhill so much with latest patch. Just gonna uninstall this game for good now. :)
