Why do people want gun witch so badly?

[Honor Guard]

If we look at the three heroes whom 2 of the 3 we already have

Gun witch Range DPS is leading (moreless she is goin to be about same as huntress i bet)

The volcano themed summer whom again we already have one and he came out very recently (abyass lord) whom is second


and the DPS melee Barbain whom we do not have at last


Makes me wounder why people want range DPS and summoners so bad when we NEED a melee dps (squire is not built for it before anyone asks)

Lavamancer honestly seems the most interesting out of all 3 ;/

Squire not build for melee dps? U wot m8 xD Squire has insane melee dps and so do monk.
Barb seems to be the most boring of all unless he actually has towers this time, lawamancer is by far the most interesting one cause it doesn't seem to be like any other hero we have already or know from dd1.

whom can reach a higher or equal DPS

thats actually debatable especially with the new shield giving you perma taunt, you also gotta remember all hunts shots are either split into weaker portions or a single target, squire hits all do the same dmg in a large aoe. (135k dps on a single vs 60k on 8 mobs.)

Well she is supposed to be a ranged DPS, meant to pick off single enemies. The Huntress is about AoE damage. And while the defences should be able to deal with all the hordes of pesky little enemies, the gunwitch propably can help kill the big baddies from a distance. The range makes her safe, the ability to kill special enemies fast, will make fights easier. Sure the barbarian might offer a lot of damage as well, but as meelee he has to run into the enemy, which is kinda risky. I don't know much about the lavamancer, but he sounds just like another builder.

huntress only aoe? there is a sphere for more ranged dps. and there are 4/s burst weapons.

so you moreless just called half the commuity cowards??!? (saying they won't take a risk)

Huntress can focuse down 1 enemy as well as said above she has spheres for more DPS

Why not compare something that matter?

If we had 1 squire and 1 huntress and made them hold 1 lane each, which character would hold the lane the best? Squire, absolutely. Huntress can't even compare to the insane utility squire brings. Huntress = mobile anti air and nothing else rly.

I'm talking without the new sword for squire, with the sword the squire is sooo much better than huntress, i mean the flamebreath can crit for 50k.
And when i compare the 2 i obviously use the same build on both lanes, preferably when comparing, you won't really build anything on the lanes, except for a wall and maybe serenity.
Abyss Lord is still the best dps character atm though, squire can't compare to the dps of abyss stones.

Plus tell me your secret of having 200k crits with basic attacks on a huntress.... Not like piercing shot is consistent dps.

I meant the abilities. Every character with a decent weapon can deal a lot of damage.
And no, I don't call someone a coward, who uses ranged weapons. They are just more effective. I can sit in one spot and see all the lanes and can deal damage on all the lanes, if needed.
That most people prefer that, is something humans figured out thousands of years ago, when they invented ranged weapons...
