I can't be the only one that expected the bow to help us farm gold easier or was I the only one that got that wrong impression?
You hear midas you expect something to turn to gold, not... gradually burn?
YESSSSS I was literally thinking the same thing! no joke. Im surprised i didnt mention it in my OP but yeah, i thought mobs that were killed by the bow would drop extra gold for us! Was dissapointed to recieve it & find out that it doesnt do that :/
But the bow though... It's horrible beyond what words can describe it.
Suggestions:
1) Give it 4 shot/second possibility
2) If it really must stay as standard shot, give it some splash damage like pre-nerf Armoured Cleanser had, it visually gives that impression anyway and would make the current left click aspect of the passive quite nice
3) Charged Primary sphere working on it which leads me to...
4) Replace the flamethrower with something like charged shots leave a trail of fire across a certain amount of distance for a few seconds, this keeps with the apparent fire focused incursion weapon theme you guys are going for as well
All of the above would make the weapon actually worthwhile.
The bow is really bad for a NM4 Inc 750 iPWR weapon, DPS is a joke with it (both basic and charged attacks) and I thought it was for gold farming before release as well.
You need to make it fun to use and deal a decent amount of damage, think it as a temporal Huntress buff to bring her up to new Heroes like AL and EV2. The squire sword has decent damage, good critical damage scaling, it's fun to play with + you can use good spheres like Shield Strength (+25% shield block damage reduction) and Fight Me Not (defenses deal +135% bonus damage). New bow is 2/s, you need to charge each passive shot and it doesn't even proc the best DPS sphere for Huntress (Charged Primary)... Trendy please.
Please talk to the team about legendary drops as well, Onslaught NM4 is still the best place to get 700 iPWR items and we all know how boring that mode is. I know you'll rework the mode, but these new NM4 Incursion maps should rain legendary drops, even make it 680-700 iPWR only. You're releasing these new heroes without smart loot like the main 4 and we're getting 1-2 legendary drops per run (counting the guaranteed drop) on 1100 iPWR end game maps. COME ON TRENDY, MAKE IT FUN AND REWARDING TO PLAY!
Whilst I am most likely going to be told a different team works on this and that, don't you think it's about time you addresses core issues instead of providing more broken content for the game. The few times I've played the game recently and every time I see DD2 on my desktop I can't help but feel I should just uninstall it.
I think feeding back on when the team plans to change the bow now would be a good idea, I would consider this critical and should be updated with urgency.
Its not useless, it just doesnt have that "Wow" factor to it that makes it worth bothering over.
However, the incursion is not without its faults. The gameplay loop for the map specifically is lacking. I like the idea of collecting the shards during the round in order to complete the mission, but I would like to see some changes.
If instead of being limited strictly by a timer I think that should be abstracted as waves mounting in pressure/difficulty the longer it takes to collect the shards.
There should be other points of interactivity in the map beyond the shard pickup/dropoff. What if there were flying gold kobolds that do something? Could be many things fit in here, but the core of it is that the map need more for players to do.
The incursion is called Bling King, but there is very little bling for players. I would expect explosions of gold surrounding shards, or the completition of the map. The pile of gold the Kobold king has should grow in size over the rounds. The entire map should be reskinned to resemble the treasure room where Aladdin finds the magic lamp. There should be special monsters during the waves that are themed like the Bling King with gold chains and big black sun glasses throwing their fat stacks at your defenses. The Bling King should be making it rain on players constantly. Gold and bling need be the core visual theme throughout the missiong and map and not just a small center piece.
This also applies to the weapon. It doesnt feel lavish enough when you have it equipped. I feel like it should be glistening and sparkling and the gems should be more prominent. The weapon should also deliver on the midas fantasy and turn creatues into golden statues. I expect using that weapon to reward me with explosions of gold as take down creatues. I did not expect this weapon to fire slowling yellow oil bloblets or spawn a jet stream of yellow flames.
I'm probably alone on my opinion that new content doesn't have to be a clear upgrade. At this point Trendy might as well bring back the cookie cutter M4, because clearly they're not allowed to make inferior/gimmick weapons.
