Use the Internet to know which grade of packs to buy. (Exemple : buy C3 shards for a chance to get Range+ shards...)
Then it's a question of building proper strategy.
If you completed the campaign, C1 shouldn't that far out of reach.
C1 has shield guys. Auras and traps work well on those.
Do you work with the 4 base caracters, or did you buy new ones ? Which ones ?
Tell us what towers you're trying to use.
I have Abyss Lord, Dryad and EV2.
I've been using mostly AL's Orc Blockade and archers, EV2's proton beam, and Dryad's Harpy Perch and Angry Nimbus. And then interspersing with various other towers.
the games progression basically works with "pick a wall, an aoe, and a single target tower that counter the current tier you're doing, and make those your strongest"
in C1, shields are at least partally making your harpys and archers do worse than they should be doing, and theres not a super great aoe defense in that lineup. try switching around your gear for your defenses and use weapon manufacturers for aoe since proton beams only hit a set number of targets, and switch to a non projectile defense for a while. instead of archers and harpys, try more hornets, or at the very least make sure the projectile towers are hitting from behind rather than in front
Abyss Lord's blockades
Dryad's bombs (2-3 per lane) and some Nimbus.
And I maintain that buying shard packs with medals is awesome. Unless your actually too poor to upgrade whatever you find.
Almost never occured to me. WORST CASE SCENARIO : "yay! Got the shard I wanted, ut can't upgrade it...": Do a few more map and you will, or wait for tomorrow's daily and use"those" medals to upgrade it.
I also had no idea that shards could be upgraded--that makes a huge difference :-0
