Technical issue with joining sessions/going back to tavern etc
Hey! Before anything, I have tried the fix under "Have a technical issue, or running into a bug? Click here!" I went to the "General Dungeon Defenders II Support/FAQ" and I did the thing under Stuck on "Searching For Session" / Unable to Matchmake. This seems to be the only thing close to the issue I'm having, and I was able to get to that website perfectly fine that is listed. It even says "Your network allows you to use this port. (Assuming that your network is not doing advanced traffic filtering.)"

When I'm opening up the game for the first time, it takes ages to get to the title screen. If I try to go into the Private Tavern or Town, if I try to start something at the War Table, if I join a friends Tavern/Game.. it's happening all the time.

What happens is I get the "joining session" thing or "searching for session" etc. It then disappears quite promptly (2-3 seconds at most maybe?) and then nothing happens for like a SOLID minute. I can run around, sort my inventory out etc. But after like 1-2 minutes it finally goes OH YOU WANTED TO DO SOMETHING.. loading screen.

The main issue comes from the fact that this also involves PARTYING UP. I don't get added to parties until 1-2 minutes after I accept, and if I send party invitations, the recepients recieve the invite 1-2 minutes after I've sent it.

It also means when I'm in a 4-person party and we say "Next Floor" in Onslaught, because it takes me so long I get kicked to the title screen after 1-2 minutes, then I have to Join Game, which takes 1-2 minutes.

Is this a known issue because it doesn't seem to be the usual Joining Session/Searching For Session bug that I've seen everyone elsewhere talk about.

Another example; I just partied up with 2 friends. The host of the party went into Onslaught Floor 8. After about 30 seconds or so, my 2 friends vanished and went into the dungeon. I'm sitting here waiting for 5 minutes and nothing happens.

I was IN the same party as them. After about 5 minutes I used "Join Game" over the Steam Overlay an then DD2 just closed down. No error message or anything, it just closed.

I've been having this issue for the past 3-4 months. I have a support ticket open for it but it got "Solved" without a response. Reading around multiple times over the months hasn't yielded any fixes. Found something similar that was really old where people had to have their account "unstuck" but mostly people recommend port forwarding and reinstalling. Neither of those fix the issue though. Another thread suggested it was a packet loss issue between our ISP and Playverse, because using a VPN he got around the issue.

Seems really rare and i have tried swapping to NA region but that doesn't change it either.

Really annoying not being able to streak or stay in a group. Extremely annoying waiting 2 minutes for a loading screen to start every time.

This bug has been around since closed beta they have never been willing to fix it and just shoved it under the rug and hope people forget about it. i have had multiple different systems and opperating systems over the years including different internet providers and the issue has never been fixed.

The thing is, i was playing in closed beta and even at launch without any issues. Played when shards came out without any issues. If that's true then it's definitely an account issue.

Wow that's annoying. Considering I'm the only one having this issue among 4 of us playing it's really getting annoying.

I get perfectly the same issue as you, such annoying to play like that especialy when you zre with friends.
I made some researches and didn't find any real possibility to fix it, as you I played during the closed beta then maybe it's an account issue but it would means it's impossible to fix.
If anyone has been able to fix it don't hesitate to share it !

Alright so i tried using a VPN with no luck, then i tried a second Steam account and it had the same issues. So i figure it couldn't be account related. Then i realised i was using Google DNS servers on our router DHCP settings, so i tried connecting directly to the modem and all the problems went away. I even stopped crashing when trying to transition to the next map. No more long login time, no more server timeouts.

So the next thing to test is whether it's the Google DNS so i tried removing them from the DHCP settings and reconnecting to the router and everything works on the router now too.

-- No idea why using Google DNS servers would mess with Playverse/DD2 but please reply if you have any success with this solution --

I've been having issues with loads times. It was ok until around May of this year. What happened was that my laptop downloaded and installed a microsoft update and it messed up the laptop. I had to start from the beginning again and lost all files except for user profile and login.

Xuhybrid, i'll look into the google DNS.

Ok, I could not find anything in router settings in regards to google DNS. I do have UPnP checked though and also 2-3 months ago tried portwarding. Don't know if i did it right though.
