A DD2 guide?
Is this one fine?
https://www.reddit.com/r/dungeondefenders/comments/6e7cpz/how_to_dd2_a_guide/

Or is there a more recently updated one somewhere?

A spreadsheet with max possible stat caps for c7 will also be nice, if you care about min/maxing later on.

just skimming through it, it seems alright. nothing drastically wrong. the only problem i see really is that minmaxing of stats, making sure you have al AP on a boss killer, stuff like that, doesnt really matter till you're far in the game. up untill at least like C5, you can literally hit auto equip and be fine. ascension levels early on are more important than having the best gear at low levels, and shards are VASTLY more important most of the way through the game. the rng of their drops literally decide your progress speed, not your actual gear. Having 1 character to build walls (usually a squire) and the rest just dumping their points in the right order for damage towers is all you need. Since you have 4 characters, theres no point to NOT spend points on a mana dump skill for 3 of them just so you can spam something on bosses when they show up. 4 "good" boss killers are just fine compared to 1 dedicated one for much of the game.
In general its right though, monk is great at building damage, and as a damage hero, PDT is nice, flamethrower is nice. Id also add earthshatter are good just through virtue of being lazy.

the literal only time hitting auto equip has been a problem before c5 was doing that and not realizing the character had 0 extra hp, so siege rollers wernt a safe fight on 1 of your 4 characters.

EDIT: Id also note the guide doesnt mention, not every map is created equal. some are vastly easier than others, some are faster. IMO the easiest are Forest Biome, and The Dead Road. They both give a large amount of DU for each lane. One of the fastest seems to be The Gates of Dragonfall, the first map. Its a difficult one though if you're undergeared since you have 3 bosses at once on short lanes. Unholy catacombs is also quite easy since even with alright gear, the 6 lanes are close enough to eachother be aoed down in various locations depending on your gear. it just takes quite a while since the doors take turns on spawning. I usually did one of those three easy ones first when movin up a chaos tier.

Thanks!
Though, I don't know what you mean by stuff like DU, AP (unless its abilitity points?) or PDT =/

DU = Defense units
AP = Ability Power (gear stat)
AP = Ancient Power ( Reset mechanic that you don't have to worry about for a quite a while)

oh sorry, i kinda just presumed they were common knowledge. i meant AP as ancient power. its basically your level. the higher it is, the more passive points you have to put into the three trees in it. its mostly what the guide is speaning of when it meant builders or boss killers, heroes both geared, but most importantly AP built toward that use.
DU is defense units, theres a limited number of defense units each map, and because of that, a limited number of defenses you can build. generally its split a bit evenly with harder lanes using more DU to kill what comes out. For example, if a map had 1000 DU, and 4 lanes, you'd likely spend somewhere around 250 each lane. Since a map with a lot of spendable DU means a lot of towers and auras, its usually a bit easier. 1000 DU in 4 lanes is going to be a much easier to map to beat than a map with 600 DU in 4 lanes for example

the only other abbreviations really that the guide uses is ones for the defenses or hero abilities. PDT poison dart tower, stuff like that.

So AP is kinda like Light in Destiny?
Does each tower/buildable take a different amount of DU or the same? Example PDT and a Flame thrower tower from the Apprentice. Does it also say on the screen somewhere how much DU is available in each map?
Thanks for the information ^-^!

Mana Cost = DU. So a tower like PDT which costs 40 Mana will take 40 DU. The exceptions are the nodes-type defenses. (WM, Proton Beam…) They cost their initial mana/DU cost + 10 for each node, including the first one. (30 in the case of WM.)

The DU counter is located at the top-right of the screen.
