Mana Gain chip: (How) does it work?
+x Ability Resource per second while inactive.

My first reaction was that it would make a very fine addition to any dryad build since her resource management is so unpleasant.

But… This mod is listed as valid for dryad, but doesn't seem to do anything when I use it. So two questions:

1) Does it even work?

2) If it works, what does “inactive” actually means? Because even standing around doesn't seem to be inactive around.

Oooooh! That actually makes sense. I was completely mistaken as of what it does. xD

Thanks a lot.

I'd use it another hero besides Dryad though? She kinda makes her own resource after all ^_^ [and the cooldown for that ticks down regardless of if she's active or not]

The thing with the Dryad is that, personally, I think that it's a pain to throw down starfalls to recharge her resource; the two-step ground targetting being the main cause.

A good half of the other heroes can use the +Mana rather than the +Ability shard. That leaves only the Mystic (good luck to have resources issue with her); Lavamancer (that one may actually be useful) and EV? Not sure it works with her, but her resource management is efficient enough to never actually need it.

Alternating between two dryads might be an idea though.

Mana Gain is very useful fpr Lavamancers. 2 of mine had it in their weapons after the expansion hit. Swaping between them to keep up the Eruption is very nice and make this passive very powerful.

For Mystics it is a little bit useful since you don't have to gather up Appeasement and can directly start with 100%. It can also help just a little bit with testing Defences in the Tavern since you can have 100%.

EV2 doesn't profit from since she need a reduction so it is disabled for her.

Yes exactly! Since the Lavamancer is dependant on Fissure to generate his resource, this mod is a true boon for party play where you don't always have the room for that. Plus the gimmicks like eruption, yeah.

I'm not sure about Mystic though. I haven't played it for quite some time but when I did, even getting a single point below the maximum was challenging in itself. Did they change something about her resource in the last year or so?

Ah, that's what I thought for EV. I would have loved to switch between two EV's for full siege assault marvels.

Sorry for bumping the thread but how do they work exactly? Does it mean you gain the mana / ability resource on your current hero, or are they generated on the inactive hero and act sort of like a "bank" that slowly fills up?
Fuzen Aug 3, 2018 @ 2:40am
The inactive hero with Mana Gain Chip gains resource while, well, inactive.
Euphytose Aug 3, 2018 @ 2:48am
Yeah but, since mana is shared across all heroes, do you see the gain while playing with another hero?
Fuzen Aug 3, 2018 @ 2:58am
We're talking about ability resource here, not defense mana.
Euphytose Aug 3, 2018 @ 3:01am
Isn't there a chip that does this for mana though? Maybe I imagined it :/
Fuzen Aug 4, 2018 @ 7:28am
There are two chips. Mana Gain Chip which gives Ability Resource (that is, star power for Dryad for instance) and Mana Growth Chip which gives Hero Mana (Apprentice, Abyss Lord…).
