It's still a great game though, all games have their minor flaws, so it's not a dealbreaker.
And I would also agree with your opinion on the voice-acting; a lot of NPC voices feel like they don't fit the character, and some dialogue feels like they were recorded in a parking lot. They basically just feel... off.
The protagonist is also a bit of a Marty-Stu[tvtropes.org] too, and seems to have virtually no personality flaws at all. It gets somewhat annoying after a while, with him always being ready with his quips & zingers, and generally being on top of all situations.
Not to sound like I am slighting the game or the developer -- I'm having a great experience thus far -- but these elements do drag me out of the experience a bit. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way, and hopefully we'll see Noogy try to address these issues in his next game.
I don't share your opinions regarding the voice acting. I thought it was very good. I don't remember any character that made me think "wtf is that?!" or any of that. On the contrary some I actually looked up once in a while only to hear them again (Haley, that sister of Corbin, Avgstin). I liked some of them having accents too, giving them slightly more personality and individuality. But maybe I've seen just enough worse voice acting especially in games you can't play in their default language.
Every character was unique. Not worked out too much, but enough to make the world kind of believable and enjoyable. The furry thing didn't disturb me. But then again all persons in this game could have been very well humans I guess. I don't know why the creator made it furry. Maybe to fit the overall cartoonish look of the game? To keep the ESRB rating low? Or just for the sake of having something different to the rather serious, darkly toned games of this genre like Devil May Cry, Gods of War or Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. I once glanced at his website, and it seems this Elysian thing is a "franchise" of him. Anyway, it doesn't hurt if you ask me.

The game was dangerously close to getting cheesy at times (you discovering your identity, doubting it, the doubts of Fidget, the death of that Mudpot citizen, the boss fight, Dust dieing), but luckily it didn't dwell too much in the more dramatic, critical scenes, so I left it rather with the feeling "ok, right, cool" than "oh boy, not again...". But that's where I sometimes wish me more creativity and boldness from game makers in terms of story and characters. Which if I remember right actually was the case in Dust most of the time (Fuse was mislead, just as Thethys and Kane, I do appreciate that). But Gaius kind of disappointed me; a guy seemingly only evil for the sake of being evil. I wish games would see things less in black and white and bring more reasoning to those you fight. It seems there was some background to him, but he didn't really get the chance to explain himself. The dialogue with Dust in the end was your standard chliche to be honest (everyone sticking to his opinion and just repeating himself over and over until there is only the one-must-die situation left).
I love that Fidget breaks the fourth wall repeatedly. The combat is a little simplistic, though I am playing on normal so my opinion on that doesn't count.
Not to mention that Dean is just one guy, and it'd be best to focus on making his new game be the best it can be, rather than taking months to add an extra chapter to his old game.
