Weapon upgrade?

So you can't upgrade weapon in this game? You need to change the build after a chapter ends? I really like kangjin staff with loong armor in chapter 3 but it only have 70 damage and it does nothing on chapter 4 enemies :(

Yeah, you'll have to switch if you want to deal more damage. In chapter 4 you'll get another thunder-focused weapon if you beat Yellow Loong (does require that you beat the loong scale bosses from ch1, 2 and 3 before you can fight him). Well, you get access to crafting it. You also need 2 materials that he drops 1 of. The other one is dropped by the chapter's secret area boss or by the end of chapter boss. So I do suppose by the time you make it you'll be at the end of the chapter. It's very strong though with 108 attack.

A bit bummer that i cant pick my fav staff since i didnt like any other stance beside smash stance. But atleast its free to reset your character, and i hear yellow loong is tough.. definitely keeping an eye for him and thanks for the info.

if yellow loong is too heavy (he is pretty strong) just try the secret Map first.

Dont kill the last Boss Chapter 4! After that, you cant go to the Secret area.
you have to kill a "hidden Boss". Stage 1 + / Stage 2 in another area of Chapter 4.
But: There are another 2 heavy Boss fight. 1 is pretty easy.
=> you have to kill the 1. Boss, 2. Boss and 3. boss. If you kill the 3. Boss first, you cant kill the other 2.

You get some nice weapons in this game. im on my 3. run Chapter 5 end and change between 3 weapons. (1 of them is only possible in the "true ending". the 2 you have to farm in chapter 6. dont go straight to the end boss :D )

I dont usually pickup a sheet how to get all the secret items & area. Usually i just keep blindly exploring, until the final boss and go back if i feel i missed something (I miss some of secret boss on chapter 2). But i'll keep that in mind, thanks!

The 'secret' areas are actually labeled as such in the game (if you select the shrine). Chapter 1, 2, 4 and 5 have secret areas. For chapter 3 it's kinda tricky since you can't get there until you're at chapter 6 and have done all other secret quests. Also best to do that one after beating the game first for the regular ending, since after doing that quest you'll have met the true ending requirements (you can just get it after beating the final boss. Do be sure to beat the final boss again after beating the secret bosses).

Hardest thing in the game to find without using a guide is probably the Loong Scales. There's exactly 1 wall in the game you can break and there's absolutely no indication that you can break it. It can also only be done during the boss fight or with very specific transformation moves from specific transformations. Sure, the wall is cracked, but so are like 90% of the walls in the game and you can't break those either.

There's also the Ice wall in the Bishui Beast cave that you can have him break with flame then run into the ice area and he follows you and it's easier

Also regarding OP, there is certain staff upgrades that only appear once you're in NG+. You cannot get the Master of Spears and Staff trophy/achievement in one run.
