People will be mad... Erlang is a fair fight.
I have made many angry - and many of the Gamer Bros Tribe have folded in the corner to cry manly tears. But now I will make the Purple Haired Everything But What They Are Tribe (no not that one, but shared in some areas - like a really horrific Venn diagram) mad.

Erlang is a fair fight. Many of the moves have been learned throughout the game and you have practiced them many times. By now you have learned to not care abt "camera" and whether or not you get to BONK. You have learned to not trust carry through. To rely on gourd, pills or spirits. These things are now beneath you.

You are MASTER MONKEY.

I haven't got here yet, but I just earlier today defeated Tiger Vanguard. I don't know how long I took it wasn't all at once, but I bet I was stuck on him for 3 to 5 hours. But that was totally a skill issue on my part.

I've heard people cry that "how can I doge what I can't see", but that's one move he only pulls out a couple times in a fight typically. AND, if you really pay attention, it's not out of no where. You can in fact figure out where he's coming from.

Every fight so far has been fair. Hard, but fair.

I got to Erlang last night. I figured if I made this far. I should know what I am doing by now.

Technically yeah, but... He's not about learning moveset and getting good (like Isshin and Gael) but more about distributing your spells and abilities through fight and then outDPSing him (like 4 Kings of DS1) in last phase.

I just got to him also. Finished up about everything else I can do. Just Erlang and final boss left.

He's definitely a tough boss, but I just need a good run on him and I could do it. I've gotten him down to 1/4th a few times already.

Erlang has too much health, a posture bar unique to him, a combo for every day of the week, all of them long, charge attacks, delay attacks, two shot combos, teleportation, several aerial combos, some AOE, grab attacks with virtually no tell, whatever frustrating thing you can imagine this boss has it.

But I still thought the fight was fun just because of how cool it looked. It's a tough discussion when a game is about killing gods. Elden Ring also sparked many controversies like this.

Even though this game gives you a lot of resources and mechanics, I think Erlang was never going to be an easy fight no matter what you do. My only criticism is that his heath pool is just too excessive, so fight attempts are long, the fight just goes on and on until you reach the last third of his bar only to die and try again.

The only real complaint I have is that his AI is bugged sometimes and he doesn't stop attacking at all. I have had stretches where he goes into 5 long attack sequences chained together with no pause to even take a sip or use my spirits and vessels. Something like 15-20 secs where I can't find any opening.

I don't know if this is planned or not but it's slightly frustrating because his shield regens all the damage you did or he doesn't allow you to hit him during dmg phase which is not that long compared to his attack sequence anyways. He has other minor problems too but those can be overcome with some adjustments.

He is the secret final boss and he is Erlang. Mythology makes him the strongest warrior in heaven so I don't mind the difficulty but I think this feature is a bit tedious and needs to be rectified a bit.

Erlang is a solid fight, and a great boss for a game that lauds itself as a challenge. He is no where near the difficulty of ishin or even consort rahdahn, but he is a solid challenge no doubt. It is a very fair fight and there is no real need for advanced tactics. He is easily beaten with a standard kit of maximizing damage and defense and dodging with fair intervals to punish. Ishin and rahdahn get to the point of being extreme, they have no windows to attack and no way to mitigate damage if you mess up.

Also you can slam smash his first 2 stages with little to no risk if you smash at 3 nodes and retreat. Also make sure to use the soak with damage mitigation and tenacity, you will never die mid heal animation, its literally BIS.

Isshin is no way as hard as this guy. All he requires is mastering the parry mechanics. He doesn't have too many combos, his charge attacks can be easily interrupted, doesn't teleport, attack in the air or have unpredictable grab attacks. Also, it doesn't take you over 6 minutes per attempts like Erlang. His flight just goes on and on.

Radahn is just bad design, period. Some of his attacks can't even be dodged and his AOEs are ridiculous.

Radahn got nerfed & Isshin doesn't require as much as manuever as you believe them to be, mainly because of both game's mechanic so your opinion is invalid

If one wants to really take Erlang down and be done with it, there is seem to be several examples of ways to bypass most of the difficulty involved.
I used the method of the Fan + changed smashes + Bat Freeze + Immobilize + Cloud step

spells didn't work. waste of mana if not used with fan, etc.. the only time they worked was when I used fan, pluck and immob all in a row - and only atfer the rock. the rock took off the shield. other than that, love taps when I could punish.

rocked worked well. i popped fan immed, pummeled him, went rock, stripped shield, popped immon, pluck of many, cloud for dmg and BONK'd him good. Love tapped until could repeat (forgot to make pill)... You just can't pop immob on him, or at least I couldn't. He broke it... If I went cloud, he immed hit me...
