Considering the message the game is probably storing something on memory like maps or textures and is not removing it after I get far from those items/map they probably need to take a good look on it as if it's able to break 24gb on graphic memory alone those 8gb cards will not stand a change if they encounter such items.
BMW is a good game to tease out any instability in CPU/GPU tinkers especially with any voltage offset/clock frequency boosts.
Nope, it's all on-stock other than the memories that are with Expo active, although I'm with expo a bit undervolt (only 5200mhz from the 6000mhz my memories are) because I need to upgrade my bios as I'm using an older AGESA (a version prior to the ones that were burning cpus), but I highly doubt it's this, as I've this pc for around a year and played lots of different games and didn't have problems with that, also the messages explicit said it was GPU memory.
GPU memory error can be triggered by CPU and/or RAM as well. You can go into Windows Event Logs, copy the log details and post it here so I can help diagnose further. Remove any potential identifying data but shouldn’t be if you’re just copying the crash log.
Sounds like you modified your RAM clocks and that might’ve had an unintended effect propagated elsewhere. RTX 4090 should not generate the GPU out of mem error for this game. Yet this error is also common for this game but rarely if ever linked to top end GPUs. It’s generally masking a CPU/RAM issue including potential hardware issues
