Did the devs hurry into making chapter 6?
I have been playing Wukong for about 60 hours now, taking my time and finishing everything in the previous chapter before moving to the next one. The start of chapter 6 was rough; you face Supreme Inspector who will kick your ass if you don't know what to do.

The whole game up until this point ran smoothly. However, it starts lagging horribly after this point. It was so bad that at the Feng Tail boss part, where you have to hold your RT button to pluck out its antennas (There are 2 phases to this: Stamina part went smoothly, Health part kept lagging towards the end). Due to the lag, my whole health bar kept vanishing within seconds. Eventually I had to lower graphics to the lowest level. That did reduce the lag, not completely minimise it.

I have an 13th Gen Intel i9 and a 4070 RTX. Like I said, the game ran smooth until this point but idk what happened in chapter 6. Has anyone faced this issue too or is it just me?

I got very little lags of stutters throughout my playthrough. Some bosses stuttered in first try a couple times. Ch6 was just about the same as rest. I imagine some stutters might be because of 2,5" SSD that's not exactly blazing fast. RTX 3080 / 5800X3D / 128GB DDR4 here @ 3440x1440

Have you installed the latest drivers?

I have. You won't believe but right after this post, when I reopened Steam, there was a small update for the game and the lag seems to be fixed. Chapter 6 feels so much better now.

Onto the final boss!

I started and finished Chapter 6 today... Definite technical issues with Chapter 6 here as well even on the end credits (3090/5950x). I had to turn a lot of my settings down as I was crashing a bunch just on that chapter. Great game, best I've played since Elden Ring but like Elden Ring there's some technical issues.

13th gen intel processors are FKED. I have / had (because I don't use it anymore) an i9 13900kf. There are many problems surrounding these processors. Do some google searching on it asap and make sure you download the newest bios driver that addresses the issue(s) from intel.

i personally didnt face a mojor problem in ch6 except the waterfall crossing but there seems to be frame drops for everyone regardless at that one place. other than that i think the performance going down is factored to the cloud and resources that take more GPU usage to render compared to the other chapter which did not have much of those parts. Its only at the start that you have clouds and then it only happens when u transform but transformation takes only a second so its barely noticeable at the time in other chapters. If you keep the FPS meter on and then transform you'll notice there is a big drop in frames when you do it cuz of the cloud or smoke effect they form.

I think Chapter 6 was likely least worked on chapter and performance wise ties for bad performance if not worse than Chapter 3 snow fields.

Supposedly Chapter 6’s area was one of the first developed by Game Science when embarked on this project and this could explain the large empty and non-cohesive world design of chapter 6 and low fidelity assets etc.

Interestingly the low resolution assets for Chapter 6 are extremely unoptimised compared to prior chapters. I played this game on 4090/13900 PC and separately/concurrently on a Legion Go handheld (AMD Z1E APU)… The fidelity and performance of Chapter 6 was laughably bad and almost ruined the entire game for me as up till that point, I was in awe of the game…

Maybe, justmaybe it has something to do with the fact, the map is big and you can freely fly around it on a freakin cloud.(which has fluid physics goin on, the best on gaming history).
And then you are complaining about inv walls and want the game to be open world- imagine all the details streaming in on 128bit cards(yea next gen cards will be 256bit on mid/high range also) while exploring maps 3x size of CH6. Its physically impossible.
You want to play 240Hz games? Go play tetris.
The detail level on temples and statues are movie CGI level, vegetation is beat looking from any game Ive seen.
The leaves arent 2d representation, they look like real leaves from any angle. I cant imagine how much gpu power thet need, and whole CH6 is covered with them(DF also mentioned vegetation arent nanites, so they are not streamed in while getting close. Dunno if its old UE5 or if it will be covered in later UE5 verisons).

The Supreme Inspector fight is made even worse by the fact that he comes so quickly after the long hard boss fight with Red Boy/Yaksha King. After so many tries that left my fingers destroyed. Then they expect you to fight Supreme Inspector right away after. I tried so many times to beat him. So I took a couple a days off to simmer down. Tonight I finally beat him by the skin of my teeth. Thank goodness this fights over! https://www.youtube.com/live/_1sL6AKejcg?si=ubSj26qmFqhx-JWs&t=678

It was easy fight, beat him 2nd or 3rd try. You just needed to use fan in good moment and hair of many and fight done in 1 minute or faster.

yes, chapter 6 looks like a discount game from a basket

The name of the chapter is "Unfinished".

But besides that, you have to look at it in context of the story. Yeah it might be lazy by the devs or whatnot but I dunno. Chapter 6 could have been done better but they went with the open world route. It's supposed to be everyone trying to get the 5 relics from you. If you didn't understand the story, that's a different problem.

It's supposed to be the final stretch of your journey leading up to the climax.

Performance wise - I'd say Video Ram is a big factor, or if you are playing on a good NVME M.2 Drive with direct storage. It's why they only allow the cloud in act 6. Everyone complaining should list the settings they are running at. I would guess "Shadows" and "Global Illumination" settings have a massive impact on performance in act 6. Even more so if you have ray tracing on.
