4th focus point sometimes appears and sometimes doesn't?

I am not sure how the 4th focus point works. Sometimes it will appear active and then other times just show 3 focus points. There also appears to be a lot of visual glitches around the stats with sometimes showing a 25% damage reduction that will at other times disappear despite no changes made to the setup. I know some things may stay buffed if you switch between talismans but it is not that. Any insight into this? Especially how the 4th focus point works would be appreciated.

The 4th focus point you get by hitting things and building up focus, but it's temporary and doesn't last very long. If you don't spend the 4 points right away your focus depletes over time and you lose the 4th point.

To be more specific, it sometimes doesn't show the 4 empty circles and just shows 3. It's that I cannot even build a temporary one despite having well over 20 points in the category. I will respawn or make random changes to my build and then sometimes I will see the 4 circles appear. In the last boss fight, in the second or third phase, the ability to even get a temporary 4th is gone. I also have the gear that prevents the 4th focus point from even being temporary. It's very odd.

If you wear the Wukong set in Chapter 6 or have completed NG++ the 4th focus point will display as a pip just like the rest. If not the 4th Focus point will just be a bar so if you have 3 pips and a full focus bar you have 4 focus points.

As for the damage reduction that could be from any number of things. It could be the Wind Tamer was active, it could be the Boshan curio being active, it could be Rock Solid Proccing, it could be a gourd soak etc.

Well it never really shows 4 empty circles on your screen, which can make it confusing. It's still 3 but after you have the 3rd focus point you can keep gaining focus, and once you have your 4th focus point it just makes the 3 circles glow more.

OK I think this clears up a lot of the issue as the wind tamer would explain the 25% reduction. I am not into NG+ just yet. I beat the bosses out of order and am on the last section of the now final boss after erlang. I do see 4 focus point slots in one phase which allows me to charge all four in smash stance while running and then release from practically across the map. However in another phase it just shows 3 bars which doesn't allow me to fly across the map with the extended staff. I am using a mix of gear that I found in chapter 6 but I am not sure it's a complete set.

Okay if I understand correctly that is easy. Final Dudeman 2nd phase he steals all your relics which denies you the Wukong stance regardless of if you are wearing the full set.

I thought the staff made it to where it showed the 4th and doesn’t disappear. I started a NG but I thought mine always showed a 4th focus circle. Hmm.
