Do they really pay attention to what the players are saying? Chinese players are not treated as players? If you call FF VII Rebirth a reset, you clearly didn't played it. The original FF VII is a great game for its era, but FF VII Rebirth is a complete masterpiece from all account. The part of the original game it adapts is not even the second first half of the original game, and it still produced 100 hours worth of gameplay, creating a ♥♥♥♥ tonnes of emotions in the process.

All of the other games you are spitting on are overall better and polish than Black Myth Wukong is, so stop being so bitter and actually try the other games. All games deserves to get some love, it's not a competition, it's about having fun and doing the best for players.

BMW is a fantastic game. It didn't win, but it doesn't mean that there was some sort of global conspiracy.

I am also mystified about Astro Bot because I have never heard of it, but I'm open minded to go look it up.

GOTY for me is going to be BG3 for sure though.

you're right, it's true that I haven't played ff, I've only watched some youtubers play it, and that doesn't stop me from not thinking it's a good one, And I made it very clear that ff is a great series and even though I haven't played it I appreciate the cast of characters in them.And since this TGA allows DLCs and remakes to be judged, it should be fair and equitable, but as I replied to another comment, whether it's the DLC for the Elden ring or the FF, or whether ReFantazio gets the Best of the Year, I wouldn't have any suggestion, Because they deserve it.but it shouldn't be astrobot

That is your opinion. Because my opinion is that BMW is the best game to come out in the last 5 years. Best game of this year. Best game of this decade. Best game of this generation. And it just lost to a Mario clone solely because it wasn't woke enough. F the VGA's we already knew they were rigged.

Name 1 original thing BMW did. It is a great game, but there is literally NOTHING original it came to the table with. Zero.

You must buy a PS5 to buy Astro Bot to play it.

That elimates a huge number of people that would vote for the title. An exclusive can win GOTY but a game like Astro Bot will not get those numbers, awards were rigged, it's the only explanation that makes sense.

This is the problem. Nobody should be supporting Sony so nobody would have played it.

As many have said, BMW is not a perfect game, good enough but still needs a lot of polishing. If it is evaluated as GOTY along with past GOTY games, no surprise these lists won't budge. But look at this Best Game nomination, DCL and remakes shouldn't be GOTY winners - a lot of people think that if that would start a bad trend within gaming, the big studios would consider resetting a lot of old games instead of making new ones. And the quality of Elden RING's DLC so far this year has been obvious to everyone, with the DLC being rated far worse than the game itself. Looking at it this way essentially the only games on this list that are comparable to BMW are the remaining ones.
Many people think that Chinese gamers will only vote for BMW, that Chinese gamers will only protect their games, but if you carefully browse through the discussions of Chinese gamers you'll see that we remain objective, we evaluate BMW's excellence and shortcomings, and we also explore the excellence and shortcomings of other games. It's safe to say that if it ended up being any game other than astrobot and BMW that won GOTY, there would have been a huge backlash from gamers - but it's also just the TGA breaking the rules for the simple reason that FF and Eldenring are excellent games, but why astrobot?Good games shouldn't be Sales, ok, so cultural content? The game design? Game art? Game production input? So many factors can be taken into account, one sentence “sales are not the core of GOTY's consideration”, what about the other factors? I agree with you mostly, except the part about nationalism and conspiracy, the reason is geo-politics, the ongoing China containment/cold war strategy by USA. I'm not even saying BMW must win, but there is that distrust, precisely because of the other things happening in the world targeted at China (lead by hegemon USA) that points to deliberate action. And I think that is the reason people feel this is dirty. That said, if BMW same out same year as Elden Ring and lost to ER, I think nobody would say anything.

You are right about the actions and behavior of the American Governent. However in this case there is no actual reason to believe this. The game that won is Japanese and BMW won several categories and was nominated for even more. This isn't the olympics nobody cares who wins TGA and it has no geopolitical fallout lol. This is coming from someone deeply frustrated by the attitude of Americans towards China but in this case it's a huge stretch.
