Because Black:Myth Wukong is a 7,5/10 at best. Its good but has many many flaws.
The only reason it has this super positive reputation on Steam is because:

A: China
B: the anti woke chud brigade has declared this their "Messiah" game that is a flawless masterpiece in their fight against the evil DEI machine.

When actual NORMAL people who dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about this culture war nonsense decide this stuff the games who are actually great win.
As in this case Astro Bot which is a clear 9/10 and just a better and more rounded game all around.

It was never going to win GOTY because of media bias. They didn't even include Stellar Blade or Space Marine's 2, opting for card game and a DLC.

I played both. BMW is the only game I purchased twice. Here on Steam + on PS5. Total played hours ≈ 100 hrs (~80 hrs on steam & 20 hrs with my kid on PS5) for BMW.

Astrobot I pre-purchased for my kid and we played through entirely (~80 hrs playtime so far).

People that celebrate BMW not winning GoTY are either racist, biased or both. If BMW came out of Japan it would enjoy sudden surge in voting especially from gaming ‘journalists.’ The whole sexism scandal was a classic case study in how to smear developers you don’t like and blackmailing by SBI shrills.

Ultimately I loved BMW my own GoTY and I even linked my twitch account to TGA to purposely vote BMW for GoTY. My kid and I also both enjoyed Astro Bot (a great platforming family friendly game).

But between my kid and I, we both absolutely loved BMW to the point my kid would sing Wukong soundtrack song in the car after playing the game. But what do we know about gaming?

Ironically most anti-BMW trolls are low level steam accounts with handful of games and most unsurprisingly from america & UK… Doesn’t take a genius to figure out why BMW was fighting uphill battle considering most voting ‘journalists’ are from those countries.

It didnt won because Wukong s devs prevailed all media and woke bs throughout development process and came out victirious by releasing this masterpiece, all while Sony went woke and lost 400 million bucks to worst multiplayer game of all time, so to somewat cover this insane f up, they made Astro Bot game of the year, a game published by themselfs.

The lore of wukong and it's world is is great, combat is meh to ok, it never really felt satisfying atleast to me.

Although I think astro bot winning was curious, I would have put a $100 on FFRebirth
