Enemy spirit lost forever?

In the early areas, I beat that big dude with a big head who like to slam the floor.

A purple spirit appeared and the game told me I couldn't absorb it.

Now I got the gourd to do it, but nothing is left there.

Is it lost forever? Will that enemy come back later.

I did it early cause it was fun (he was quite challenging) but it seems like the game punish me for it!

If you go to your nearest Shrine there should be an option to recover lost spirits, option should be there if you have reached the wise master with the gourd encounter.

help, some how after retrieve just 1 the option is gone

you only had one to retrieve then. Or all the missing spirits are retrieved instantly. ( not all strong foes become spirits for you)

Thx. Had 2 spirits to retrieve. Getting one gets all.
