I don't have the stance (tried activating with Left on Controller D-Pad,) I guess and suspect this is why it doesn't work? Not sure either.
The game allows you to invest into the early stance skills without having them? Lol, weird oversight if I'm right in this assumption.
(At least respeccing is free and easy at a shrine.)
Looking at the video, it looks like it's a timed specific move/there's a window during the beginning of the heavy attack that activates it. Which makes sense considering the reward you get so it won't be handed to you. Will have to test it on an enemy near a shrine.
I am not sure if it needs to be triggered as a "counter" right before an enemy attack or if it is just triggered at a certain point in the light combo.
You have to time your heavy attack during the light combo to activate it. It's in the beggining of the heavy attack animation like shown in the little demo video. Don't forget you need at least 1 Focus Point.
I just did it to a boss, and you get that big red splash effect when it happens.
My issue is that I can not activate the follow-ups from the skill tree it seems. It might be possible that Resolute attack and see-through effect only occurs when your attack prevents damage, which makes it rather hard and rare to trigger those follow ups.
Thanks! And you're welcome!
It was the same for me. I only tried a few times on the blue guy and the minions on the way to him, then I just left it alone.
I got stuck (and still am) on this boss, started looking at my skills and stuff and came back across the one of the first 3 skills I bought but never used, lol. The description of it alone makes it sound like a strong move if you can do it. The in-game demo shows it working like a counter, but when you can't time it, you question if you're even attempting something that's possible/doing the right sequence of things.
So when I actually did it, I thought it'd be nice to have actual confirmation on how it works/that we're even attempting it right. And that if it's not working, it's because of our timing.
