Why are modern developers so against difficulty settings?

I'm just not good enough to play games on the highest difficulty. I don't have the reflexes I had in my youth. Something as simple as boosting my health and decreasing enemy health would make this game playable for me without taking anything from people who enjoy higher difficulties.

Why are difficulty settings going the way of the cheat code?

trust me it was way worse back in the days. on the NES or other old school gaming systems almost every game was way harder than this or dark souls.

You are not too old, you are young enough to put pronouns in your steam profile bio, so you are 25 to 30 years old at best. No one over 30 puts fing pronouns in their bio, because we learned that there are only two genders.

Have you ever considered that maybe they didn't want these options for their game, and that it's fine with them to want that. Since it is their game to begin with.

If you want change, you need to convince them to add it. Just be aware that they're allowed to say no and reject it though.

Over all, there's nothing stopping you, or other people to make a game like this with those settings if they really want it.

Maybe souls difficulty games aren't your type of game, they aren't mine, but I want to give props to those having fun with the game.

I don't care either way personally, I am not going to tell others how they should enjoy a game. But I do think souls-like games should NOT have an easy mode as a challenge is part of the overall vibe of these games.

Failing that, you could use things like Wemod or Cheat Engine to make it easier

if you want a hard game then just play with one hand, that should make up for your "im too good" complex.
