If latency decreases with Frame Gen on then something is very very wrong. Frame Gen ALWAYS adds latency ....ALWAYS
Why? Because it takes time to generate a frame and that adds latency and there is no way around that unless you find a way around basic physics and Einstein's Law of Relativity .... Time cannot go backwards except in rare mostly theoretical instances thus Frame Generation can only add delay not subtract from it.
You have to get a rhythmic feel for the timing of your button presses, and you'll fare much better.
A good example of this is with the lowly mob character that sits in front of the little bridge as you approach the Wandering Wight - if you get an animation cancel in the form of a block while combo-ing with light hits, then your timing is off.
My slight peeve with this game, is that when you make a perfect dodge, the player character can go out of sight within the enemy model if they're quite big, and there should be a visible outline to help with relocating yourself on-screen, especially as it shows the ghost of where you were which often pops out more, in my limited experience.
Btw guys, I've managed to almost fix the issue - my PC latency for this game went from ~60ms range to ~10-25ms without altering any of the other settings
First I applied this - https://www.nexusmods.com/blackmythwukong/mods/44?tab=description
Then this - https://www.nexusmods.com/blackmythwukong/mods/13 (don't forget to add the necessary command to the game's launch options as described).
Also, DISABLE STEAM OVERLAY before launching the game (VERY IMPORTANT AS IT CURRENTLY BUGGED IN WUKONG) - Steam -> Settings > In game > Enable the Steam Overlay
The game actually feels so much better now
same issue here. in chapter 1, my character could drink from gourd multiple time because of that delay (i pressed, i didnt see he use gourd, so i pressed again). Now im in chapter 3 and press R 3 times doesnt make my character use gourd. It doesnt feel like animation at all. it feels like a huge delay between keyboard events and game's functions
This technology is meant to help achieve higher fps like 150 or more to begin with, at lower fps it's just doing more trouble then help.
