Input Delay?
Do y'all also experience a huge delay when dodging or doing anything?

Im having 80 to 100 ms latency. Most of the UE5 games are like this. this piece of tool discourage devs to optimize there games. saving time is cool but it shouldn't be on something so crucial thing like optimization. Good thing is some really passionate devs are behind this game. im sure a patch or two will fix this annoying latency issue.

Low latence mod in nvidia panel reduce that ?

I disagree. The game's optimization is great.

FG and Raytracing off certainly help but its still not great. I'll have to hunt down this latency mod your talking about Stévann, maybe it will help a bit more. DBTHEPLUG Agreed or disagree is irrelevant, this has nothing to do with opinions. Its technical and dependent on hardware. Saying you disagree doesn't change reality. If I disagree the sky is blue, i know its crazy, but its still feeknn blue.

I play without framegen. The delay is massive.

60 ms latency while having more ''intentional'' latency on top of that obviously explains why it feels like there's such a big input delay. Thanks.

First, latency of 30ms or less is generally not noticeable to the human eye
Second, for gaming anything under 100MS is "acceptable" of course the lower the better and getting above 80 is generally pushing it.

If you actually read that rather than trying to say GOTCHA! You would see that turning FG on drastically reduces this to the point where it's not an issue.

Your complaint is still the fact that there is delay between attacks. It is STILL a YOU issue. You still don't understand anything about what you are trying to complain about.

If latency decreases with Frame Gen on then something is very very wrong. Frame Gen ALWAYS adds latency ....ALWAYS

Why? Because it takes time to generate a frame and that adds latency and there is no way around that unless you find a way around basic physics and Einstein's Law of Relativity .... Time cannot go backwards except in rare mostly theoretical instances thus Frame Generation can only add delay not subtract from it.

If you're using frame gen it'll cause more of a delay. If your PC can't render the game at about 80 FPS, it'll feel a little more sluggish if you enable frame gen.

This, 100%.

You have to get a rhythmic feel for the timing of your button presses, and you'll fare much better.

A good example of this is with the lowly mob character that sits in front of the little bridge as you approach the Wandering Wight - if you get an animation cancel in the form of a block while combo-ing with light hits, then your timing is off.

My slight peeve with this game, is that when you make a perfect dodge, the player character can go out of sight within the enemy model if they're quite big, and there should be a visible outline to help with relocating yourself on-screen, especially as it shows the ghost of where you were which often pops out more, in my limited experience.

^ just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lol @ those nitwits still blaberring their nonsense about "animation delay" or whatever. I bet they have no idea how we can actually measure system latency and see the numbers proving it's abnormally high, yet they still feel it's their duty to come here and give their invaluable opinion about something they have no clue about.

Btw guys, I've managed to almost fix the issue - my PC latency for this game went from ~60ms range to ~10-25ms without altering any of the other settings

First I applied this - https://www.nexusmods.com/blackmythwukong/mods/44?tab=description
Then this - https://www.nexusmods.com/blackmythwukong/mods/13 (don't forget to add the necessary command to the game's launch options as described).

Also, DISABLE STEAM OVERLAY before launching the game (VERY IMPORTANT AS IT CURRENTLY BUGGED IN WUKONG) - Steam -> Settings > In game > Enable the Steam Overlay

The game actually feels so much better now:yk2strength:

Are you sure it is input delay you are experiencing and not delay between moves (which would be intentional)?
No you dumbass, you can't even use the healing gourd even if pressing the button more than once, same with the keyboard.

same issue here. in chapter 1, my character could drink from gourd multiple time because of that delay (i pressed, i didnt see he use gourd, so i pressed again). Now im in chapter 3 and press R 3 times doesnt make my character use gourd. It doesnt feel like animation at all. it feels like a huge delay between keyboard events and game's functions

Designed or not it defiantly feels sluggish. Stun lock is also very prevalent and there isn't poise so perfect dodge is mandatory to stay in flow. I'm not so sure if its intended to be as aggressive as it is but I spend more time looking for big atk windows than trading which isn't at all ideal.

I agree there seems to be some kind of input lag , i press an ability 3 times before it goes off sometimes and I am not locked in any kind of animation , prob got something to do with different peoples rigs why there is a big dichotomy in how the game feels and plays

If you're using frame gen it adds input lag
Ichi-niiPL Sep 1, 2024 @ 6:52am
A bit of pro tip - don't use Frame Generation unless your base fps is at minimum ~60fps or you will've crazy input lag and artefacts.
This technology is meant to help achieve higher fps like 150 or more to begin with, at lower fps it's just doing more trouble then help.
