What? I still don't understand. I'm new to the game. I've tried hitting a light attack to build up my combo and then pressing heavy attack when I have a focus point, but he just does the normal heavy attack. When exactly do I need to press the heavy attack button?
it only works if you are about to be hit by an enemy. you can look at it as another form of a perfect parry. instead of a perfect parry (which does not exist in this game) or a perfect dodge you press the heavy attack button instead. in other words:
- you are attacking: 1st attack, 2nd attack
- you see the enemy is about to hit you
- you press heavy attack just before you get hit to resolute counterflow in your current atack combo -> in the example it would be: 1st attack -> 2nd attack -> heavy attack to counterflow in one combo. if you pause inbetween the 2nd attack and the heavy attack you would reset your combo and the counterflow would not work
= you will see your character go transparent and a red flash will appear to indicate you successfully counterflowed the enemy
-> you continue your attack combo as if nothing happened
i hope this makes more sense to you.
there is some timing involved, not only because of the incoming enemy attack, but also because you will be locked into your previously started attack animation. takes a little to get used to, so dont spam your attacks (too much).
