dodging requires stamina,
you drink from flasks that replenishes after resting
targeting enemies like a souls game
dodge mechanics like it,
but it also has alot of elements like other traditional RPGs,
If that is your concern, you will enjoy this as it isn't at all hard imo
Difficulty starts easy but ramps up.

Merci !
I go to test 2 hours.
It's written in the description of the game: "Action-RPG".
Elder's Scrolls, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, The Witcher are Action-RPG.
Write "Action RPG" in Google, open Wikipedia, and you go to see the list.
QFD
The closest game to it is God of War but unlike God of War, the world is not connected in Wukong. It's kind of level based.
There are stats but they are not directly influenced by your level. You unlock abilities like in God of war.
The combat feels like a bland between Wo Long (minus the parry) and God of War with a sprinkle of Elden Ring. It focuses heavily on dodges.
Single type of weapon, but it can be upgraded by collecting materials and advancing the plot.
To add to this. Stamina doesnt stop you from attacking or dodging, it just slows the interval for dodging and prevents you from using finisher move. It's not as resource intensive as Souls game where if you're caught with no stamina you're in for pain.
RPG elements offers some but stats but not to the point you can out level something.
Defense seems to reduce damage based on % scaling
Attacks will deal some damage to you even by early chapter mobs no matter how high your level is.
Funny reading my comment here compared to my thoughts now lol...
I completely changed my mind, this is most definitely a souls-like with some "action RPG" elements as the devs said. But make no mistake this is a difficult game at times and the combat is unique and fun but most definitely souls-like
